She started singing with her family in the group Clannad. She left to go solo in 1982. She is Irelands biggest solo artist. If you listen to early Clannad songs you can pick out Enya's voice. I always fall asleep to her music playing on the Amazon echo at night as its so relaxing. Dark Sky Island deluxe is a great album.

Usually I listen to melodic death metal, thrash metal, metalcore, hardcore punk and the like, but I can't stop listening to Enya and her music. She manages to make her music sound both relaxing and majestic at the same time. This song in particular makes me fantasize about myself riding my cruiser motorcycle into the sunset, through the whole night and into the dawn of a new day... In another way it makes me think of my shift work and in particular the night shift when "everything flows" flawlessly through the night into the new day and the "alleluia" when the shift is over in the morning and I can go home.

She doesn't really sing live. Hasn't toured ever. Which is sad. She sang May It Be at the Oscars and a couple of talk shows but that's it. It would be super hard to replicate live. But she said in an interview not too long ago that there may be the possibility of a tour but that it's very difficult to replicate the quality of her songs without it seeming like she's "singing to a backing track".
