one thing im wondering is why do they teach the lock and key model when the induced fit model has been accepted for a very long time and is taught in a level?????

Often things are simplified in the curriculum to make the content more manageable for younger students - however, this can lead to frustration later on, when you have to "unlearn" things that you were previously taught. If you are reading ahead / at a higher level, the good thing to know is that you won't lose marks in an exam if you provide MORE advanced detail than required.
