I mean, to be fair, autopsy is pretty nasty. 😂 The Y incision, cracking open the ribs like a damn lobster tail, making thin slices all the way through the heart, plus the fact that people who get autopsied are almost always deceased due to homicide...absolutely disgusting! 🤣🤣🤣

@@veggiesarefruits No, I don't feel disgust at all. Even basic physical nausea, I have a very high threshold, although I can feel it especially if I am sick or something. I understand disgust by way of people describing, but I glad I don't feel it. It's an emotion born out of weakness. Sadness (although I may feel it less than others, but I definitely know it) is a reaction to something or someone you like going through bad stuff. Fear (although I myself almost never feel it, and the very few fears I have are not "physical", like concrete things that could hurt you, moreso relational, and are very few, I basically stay collected almost all the time, and few things make me feel fear even in small amounts), is something you feel when you are concerned about your or the safety of someone or something you like; it's worse than sadness, and it should be overcome, but at least you can understand if. Disgust on the other hand, it's pointless, completely random, and absolutely devoid of even any link to things you care about. Regarding things you mentioned, like injustice and so on, I definitely feel things as fairness is a big thing for me, but not disgust. I usually feel hatred, anger, and sometimes contempt (which I understand is similar in some ways but still very different from disgust). Edit: re-read the whole comment, lol. To be clear, I'm not trying to sound edgy or tough in the comments, I just tried to briefly describe my emotional life in part about the thing you asked me and perhaps some related things 😂

The opening scene was meant to establish two things: one, that Jigsaw was in fact truly dead, and would not be coming back to life like other horror villains, or showing that he faked his death in any way. Two, to show that even then, it didn’t matter. Jigsaw is not a step ahead of everyone, or three, or fifty; Jigsaw is a hundred thousand steps ahead of everyone else, and this movie, and the ones that follow, prove that. Riggs, I think, has the distinction of being the longest surviving Black man in the history of horror films, outside of Tony Todd. If we eliminate Todd’s role in the Candyman films because he’s the villain, and his appearances in the Final Destination films, because he’s a bystander and not directly involved, then of all Black characters that have appeared in consecutive entries of a horror series without being the source of the horror or a mere bystander but actually involved in the story, then Riggs making it through Saws 2 and 3, and then becoming the main protagonist and making it to the end of 4 before dying, unless I’m missing someone in some other series, that’s a record for his actor.

I feel like this movie will make or break how you feel about this franchise. it expands a lot of Jigsaw’s origins/“ideology” and answers some questions I remember you asking in previous videos. Riggs is an interesting protagonist since he seems to try and do the right things but in retrospect are “wrong”. the transitions in this movie are amazing. can’t wait for your reaction to the “hair trap”, the mirror transition, and the big twist at the end.

Huge Appearances Fact: Saw III (2006) was Costas Mandylor's and Betsy Russell's first appearance in the series. Although they both have minor roles in that movie, they would become main characters in four of the films that followed. Practical Over CGI Fact: The seamless transitions between separate scenes in the film were not created using digital effects, but were done practically. For these transitions, the sets were built in such a way that two separate scenes could be filmed in one shot without interruption.

One way of understanding why Riggs was chosen, is that while Riggs does try to help others, he goes about it the wrong way/can be reckless with the lives he does have in his hands. Which can/will cause way more harm then good.

The saw franchise is truly awesome for me. It is a story and even though jigsaw is officially dead in this movie, I love the flashbacks. I started piecing it that jigsaw had more than 1 accomplice. It would make sense about amanda and det hoffman. He needed a cop to be by his side. These movies are terrific storytelling

I like 4 a lot, and it continues the trend of solid even Saw entries. I wish Riggs had learned to follow John's orders and shown a bit of patience, as he could have been a solid disciple. Still, seeing the journey of a failed apprentice gives us some idea of what John might have put Amanda and Hoffmann through. And the X Japan song over the credits 'IV' is amazing (and lyrically dense) 🥰

Okay so here's the cliff notes going into Saw 5 - Saw 3 and Saw 4 take place at the same time with Saw 4s opening being Johns autopsy and then Saw 5-7 are a straight shot after the autopsy besides flashbacks - John Kramers lawyer Art Blank who was a business partner of his in the 90s was brought into this game similar to Zepp in the original - Jill Tuck is John's ex wife, they planned on having a child together but the child was killed by Cecil Adam's who was Johns first test subject back in 1997 or 1998 - Straham is completely innocent and becomes the number one detective following this movie - Hoffman has been with Jigsaw since 2004 which Saw 5 elaborates on. - Eric is now obviously dead, surviving roughly 5 months from October of 2005 when Saw 2 takes place (a year after the original) until this which I believe to be in May of 2006 - Saw 5 and 6 are almost exactly after this one and the next big time jump will be Saw 7 which takes place in March or April of 2007 I've watched the Saw movies all my life and i can say it's one of my favorite stories ever but these movies are a pain in the ass to keep track of so here's the rough timeline of the first 7 movies.

It depends on which jigsaw partner it is..Hoffman was one of the worst and often just gave them no chance in several traps. Amanda was violent and attacked officer Matthews after he smashed his ankle to escape the chain and I won't mention the next two jigsaws that take over after those or during depending on which one.

The fat rapist did have a chance. He had to take out both of his eyes before the time ran out and his trap would release him. The idea being, he would still be alive, but completely blind. Unable to check out women and do the things he did to them. He hesitate before popping the second eye and timer ran out

I remember watching a real life autopsy being done in front of a crowd on something like HBO as a kid. My dad or somebody watched it. It scarred the hell out of me. Wish I never watched it. I don't even know how or why I sat there and watched it. Especially with how queasy and anxious I get seeing real life human gore. 😑
