Great review, looks a good piece of kit. Don’t forget that interior light you removed in the rear, you can use the wiring for a ‘garage light’ in the rear of your van 🤞

Nice looking unit, eonon brand been around a long time. Lots of wires for my old brain but neat features like personalising steering wheel controls and the hdmi for another screen in the rear of the van!. Always wondered how reversing camera was triggered, had both factory fit on prev golf and aftermarket fit on my old Insignia. Look forward to following the camper build. 👍

Using Wego connectors makes that install so much simpler. Looks like a good upgrade, shame about the trim kit missing essential bits and not fastening in properly. Might try your technique to get the original radio out of my Sprinter, as we haven't been able to remove it with the special radio removal tools we got.....

Great stuff! Only thing I would do differently is use shrink wrap instead of insulating tape on the joints as insulating tape comes off in time and defeats the purpose of it being there!

I can’t remember to be honest. It’s still in my boxer but as the camper isn’t finished I’ve not been using it so completely forgot everything about this stereo until I start using the van. 😬

Ho Lee on that install for reversing camera did you need to cut into the rear light reversing wire. Only ask because i have the camera installed but am just using the camera screen it came with , same reversing camera as yours. Hoping i just remove the screen and plug the video feed into the back . How did the dab go in the end buddy ?

Also Lee my van has the sat nav type unit oem. It has a dab option but nothing happens so I don't know if I have a dab ariel 8nstalled from factory

The dab was a bit crappy so didn’t really bother in the end. You can tell if your vehicle comes with a dab aerial. If you look at the antenna above the windscreen the dab aerial spirals around the fm aerial. So if it’s just a thin straight pole it’s fm. If it has a cable that spirals around it then it’s dab too. I didn’t have to get anything from the reverse lights as the can box that came with the wiring kit had a reverse signal coming from it.

Thanks for the video, very useful ahead of me doing the same - do you know the type of Dab/coax adapter you needed to use the original antenna? Edit - I found out on another video but in case anyone has the same question, it’s a Fakra (male) to SMA adapter that is required to use the existing DAB antenna

I’ve always found the dab reception to be poop on the Chinese units

I fitted the adapter today so now it’s running on the stock dab aerial. The signal is perfect now 👍 even found a load of new channel when I did a rescan
