I travelled for 8 years and I realized when I came back home that all I ever really need is what I traveled with. So it's basically a backpack. The only things I have other than that is: Used car (3k) Electric guitar (300 bucks) Small amplifier (250 bucks)

I prefer 2 pairs of jeans and 2 of shorts; not specific to travel, that's what I have for every day life. That's all I've had for 5 years now and it works great. :)

This is a great episode. I always tell myself (and others) that I want to travel more conveniently. I mean that in every way: to work, to friends, to vacations, etc. I feel like I always drag things with me. I have donated 8 huge bags worth of stuff, yet I still feel like I own so much. I am about to move in with my boyfriend, and that really opens my eyes to the amount of stuff I own. I also feel like I am going to bring more things than I need. Anywho, great episode.

I've done the storage unit mistake. At this point, I could have bought everything in there new and better - and still spent less than I have on the storage fees!

Never again for a garage sale - for all the work you do, you make $3 (and possibly get robbed on the good stuff as I was). Hauling the stuff out and then back again for nothing - never again. I'd rather just donate.

There was so much product placement in just the first 10 minutes. As a first time listener looking for a discussion, that really turned me off.

I get what you mean but in the same time if the product is good and it lasts and it's not "all over the place" then it's not bad, in a way. But truly get your point because I feel it too sometimes.

Most museums take donations so if you don't have to suggested donation price of admission you can give less.

Hey, do you have any tips for travelling in winter? I like experiencing the snow but am horrible with the cold. I've bought a goose down jacket to help me deal with that (going to Quebec soon) but it takes up a quarter of my check in suitcase, my water proof snow boots take up another quarter. How can I fit everything else I need in that one suitcase?

I can buy my dream car cash easily right now (2nd hand is $80.000), but still I don’t, because I cannot afford to spend that amount of my savings on a car. So I drive a $8000 paid for car 😅

These podcasts would be better without the product pushing (the bag or backpack or whatever it was). As the song says "I bet you would do fine without it." That everyone is constantly pushing products makes it a lot harder to be an actual minimalist.
