Love the idea of visiting the staff for opinions and options, made for an enjoyable change from the regular format.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. The only tag that I was able to draw this year was a Utah elk. I finished up on Tuesday and we got our elk. What a good time. I was able to hunt with two of my sons. I am went with a browning x-bolt in 270 with a Vortex 4 - 16 X 50 Viper HSLR. I used 140 grain bullet, and it did the trick.

Love to hear all the plans and excitement building. Please do a follow up to share some successful hunts. For me, the season ended early… Oklahoma rifle hunt, opening day, I took the biggest whitetail buck of my life. 230 yard shot with a .308, firing a 150 grain Interlock. My 14 year old nephew that I’m mentoring also shot a very impressive 9 point whitetail with the same round. Both were very quick kills, with the accuracy I’ve come to count on from Hornady. Thank you for making such quality products. My hunts and hobbies are that much better, because of them.

I really enjoy having rifle season from October 22 to January 8; but I would enjoy it even more if you shipped some of those corn fed bucks down here. Browning AB1, .308 Winchester, 125 grain handloads; with a Tasco Worldclass 2-7. The rifle was my 11 year old Christmas present and unless something breaks, no changes will ever be made to it. 37 years later and it still just works. I do have several other options that I take to the woods periodically, but this rifle has the nostalgia factor. Or, more often, my crossgun nestled up to houses in suburbia...lol.

We’re pretty much wrapped up where I live in Wyoming. Didn’t use any Hornady this year, but I have some 165 grain 308 cx I haven’t shot yet. Hoping it shoots well so I can use it next year.

I am mentoring a new hunter that has taken two bucks. First one with 300 Blackout and the secomd with 308 win. the blackout was with winchester ammo because no Hornady has been available in my area. The second with Precision Hunter. First buck took a clean up shot with my 6.5 PRC in Precision Hunter and second buck was bang -drop.

Here in Australia, we have deer season that starts 60 seconds before 0001 on January 1 each year and finishes 60 seconds after 2359 on December 31 that same year. No permits required unless on public land and no limit on the number taken. Deer are not native to Australia but have become too prevalent in many areas. The big controversy is whether to manage deer numbers or eradicate them.

I'm not bashing Hornady bullets! I use mostly Hornady but does Hornady pay you guys extra for using their calibers?? Just curious is all.

Got a nice buck with 55gr .223 vmax last week, DRT with a heart shot. Wouldn't do it again though, very limited penetration. Why is there no bonded polymer tip .223? Winchester beat you guys to the punch with their deer season XP. CX bullets have too much penetration, your interlock SP isn't very accurate, that left me with 53gr and 55gr vmax. If I had some I would've used the 75gr BTHP but that's not a hunting bullet.
@powerbagle2 жыл бұрын
I used the 75 gr. It worked, but no blood trail. Probably going to get a 6.5 Grendel upper for next year.
@SuspiciousGanymede2 жыл бұрын
@@powerbagle im thinking the exact same thing. 6.5 grendel upper for hunting, 5.56/223 for plinking/home defense.

If the majority of you at Hornady weren't hunters you wouldn't be able to design the products as well. But I'm still waiting on the 6 mm PRC LOL
