We really should get our priorities straight. Some shippers can be annoying and delusional, but shipping isn't the real problem. Overly possessive fans getting angry over idols (who they have never met and have zero chance of dating regardless) interacting with or dating other idols of the opposite gender + companies that enable such unhealthy para-social relationships to get more money from fans are the real problem. Their actions can and do have real bad consequences for idols (being kicked out of their companies, etc.).

@@p.a.681 this is so true, everyone blames fans but the problem is companies know and profit over obsessive fans and do their best to gather as many as they can. they LIKE having obsessive fans, it's good business. fans even stream and spam to get awards, the quality of the music doesn't even matter so long as the right group made it. everything about kpop is designed to cultivate parasocial relationships. v-live is even like facetime. all the 'i love you's, when they cannot possibly love people they don't know exists. weverse feels like texting. vlogs feel like you're there with them. idols are single so you can date them. there's a reason kpop has so much content beyond the music. companies do everything they can to fake a one-on-one relationship. a lot of the responsibility lies with the companies and idols. if they didn't want obsessive fans, they wouldn't have them, not at the numbers they do.

I'm so sorry I didn't read your comment sooner 😭 From what I know, there was no official statement about why only half of them attended the picnic, but don't worry, it's not because of health issues. Most Carats including myself thinks that SVT just sent half of their members that are average or bad at games to Hybe picnic assuming it'll be too chaotic if all of them went since they're so good at doing variety shows 🤣. (Do correct me if I'm wrong tho, this is what I understood and assumed) The ones that are not there were S.Coups, Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, and Vernon. These peeps are freaking good at games so Carats suspect that they didn't attend because they didn't wanna win all the prizes there 🤣 But of course, this is just Carats' speculation that are made for fun

@@sprite4360 And yesssss, if you're new to Seventeen and wanna get to know more about them, i suggest you to watch Going Seventeen (GoSe for short), which is SVT's variety show. Because GoSe 2017 and 2018 are more to behind the scenes videos, I'll suggest you to start off from GoSe 2019 til 2023 if you wanna have a good laugh + know more about them slowly through the episodes (Fyi, Some of the beginning episodes in GoSe 2019 are also behind the scenes of their concerts, but 2020-2023 ones are fully variety show contents). And then if you're still interested, you can watch GoSe 2017 and 2018 as well. You are a Cubic if you're a fan of GoSe shows, but not really a fan of SVT's music yet. However, you can become a Carat(SVT's fandom name) if you love SVT's music as well!!! Their music are all good imo and they have a lot of genre, but my all time favourites are Kidult, Rock with You, Cheers, Hot, Shadow, Light a Flame, Pinwheel, and- (ok I'll stop here for now before I type an essay). Do listen to their songs if you're interested!!! They self produce their songs and are incredibly talented!!! All 13 members are practically All-rounders so do check them out ❤️ I hope you enjoy your journey in discovering Kpop bands 😁 and I hope you'll atleast become a Cubic, even better if you become a Carat 😍
