Well I know what shop NOT to go to. I live in Indian Trail, NC and almost brought one of my motorcycles their for repair. I really despise mechanics who keep throwing parts at a vehicle, in order to find the problem. A great mechanic diagnosis the problem correctly and gets right to the problem right away. Saves us all time and money. Good luck with your Himalayan🙏.

30 years in the motorcycle business. Out of spec valves will not cause that. It is an electrical issue. My guess is the fuel pump itself, the main ignition switch , the solid state ignition, or unfortunately a short somewhere in the main harnesses. Good luck.

Don't get the REH, I did not have a good experience either. I had a out 600 miles on mine and started having problems. My dealership just outright said 5hey didn't know how to work on it. I bit the bullet lost some money and traded back in for a kawasaki klr 650. The klr has been around for 30 years, easy to get parts and work on.
@SomeGuyRides2 жыл бұрын
I have some severe mixed feelings on this. On the one hand - I freaking love the REH. Love it. I love the looks, I love the height, I love how it rides. The only thing I don't love is the weight. And of course I also don't love any of the weird problems they all seem to come with. If I didn't care about the styling - I'd probably get a honda rally. But I just don't like the way they look. My REH was in the shop for 65 days this summer. Some people have zero problems. Some people have lots of problems. Like Robert says - if you can deal with the looks of a klr 650 or a dr 650 or any sort of honda - that's probably a better bet. When it's running well like it is now - I love it though. Love.

@@SomeGuyRides The DR650 has a 35 inch seat height, and I cannot get over how different and stubby they look when lowered. My 6'3" hubby can flat-foot his, but I will stick to my 2019 Himalayan (which has fewer issues than the 2021) even tho I hate that it grossly outweighs his DR650.
@397coney72 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough question to answer. There are so many to choose from. A price point would be helpful. Are you looking for fuel injection or carburetor? Personally, I wouldn’t buy the Royal Himalayan. I have a Suzuki DR650 that I love. I’ve had it five years with zero problems. I did A LOT of upgrades and would never sell it. However, I will be in the market for another motorcycle soon. Same type of bike, but a little more modern technology and a bit lighter. So I’d have the best of both worlds. Currently, the Honda CRF450RL is on top of my list. I also like the KTM’s, but reliability concerns me.

@SomeGuyRides2 жыл бұрын
I love the Zumo - but it's so pricey. It's just - Gaia on a phone, the tiny icons, having to always make sure it's in right mode - honestly - it just felt a little dangerous having to mess with it while riding.
