EP 10 || Installing the engine | Range Rover Classic

Whilst relatively quite over the past couple of months on KZbin, progress has been both drastic & consistent on project Rodney.
It probably doesn’t come as a surprise to many that the engine of choice for the build is in fact the 300tdi, ( the engine that saw me lap Australia with zero dramas). After all, why change something that works so well.
So with a bit of a tidy up and some power upgrades. It lives on to be the powerhouse to many more adventures.

E/A. Any thought to improve the engine with a 200Tdi exhaust manifold mista ? It could allow a new hybrid turbocharger, even though donk is recently re-built ! V.

Throwing a 3inch custom stainless exhaust and already fitted a variable vain turbo. One step ahead of ya 😜

Awesome stuff - that motor looks fantastic. How does a 300tdi go vs a V8 out on the road/track? I have a cammed 3.9 in mine and it goes pretty well, but jeez it likes a drink.

Cheers mate! I’d struggle to go back to a V8 after the diesel, this thing pulls well and is great on the fuel. Don’t get me wrong, I fricken love the v8’s! Just wouldn’t be feasible with all the travelling I do!

Brilliant work. Such a thorough job, no shortcuts. Wity such a high lift how did you cope with propshaft angles and joints?

Thanks Nigel! Since the engine swap was done with the lift already installed on the vehicle engine and gearbox was welded to the lowest point possible to reduce prop shaft angle. Overall its slightly more angle then stock but not by much!.
