I agree the Tony Scapone list looks like the best combo deck around. I hope it becomes a new tier 1 combo list without getting banned. It'd be cool to see the meta shaken all the way up. It'd be ok if Mindbreak Trap was better than Force of Will. I'd be stoked to see a tier 1 deck with NO RESERVED LIST CARDS!

Also id like to note, back in the Wild West days of magic, head judges had the ability to ban cards in type 1 and type 1.5. That only lasted a few years

Memory Jar was legal from March 1st to April 1st 1999 in all formats at the time. Mind's Desire was banned from day 1 in Type 1.5 and restricted from day 1 in Type I.

Memory Jar was legal it was played with Megrim. It was the first Emergency ban I believe.

Just wanted to shout out the MH3 team at WOTC, I’ve not been more excited about a set as I have with MH3. They nailed it…they usually only get negative criticism when things go wrong but it’s only fair to give them positive feedback when they get it right.

I know Glimpse of Nature was pre-banned in Modern. Unban Glimpse cowards!

They are talking about cards that were banned before they were released. Modern was created after glimpse of nature

I mean I think it’s pretty clear that “initial banlists” don’t really count? Like for example Pioneer was envisioned as a format without fetches, and so they were never allowed in

Glimpse was actually banned in the second round of Modern-prebannings too, which meant that there were a brief few months where stores were firing unsanctioned modern tournaments with a much smaller ban list: I think it was Clamp, the Artifact lands, dark depths, chrome mox, Golgari Grave-troll, Sword of the Meek, and Jitte. A few of us got to play with the other pre-banned Modern cards. It was a wild time
