We keep our camper in storage and always kept it covered during the winters here in the northeast. We also put gutter covers right before covering so the gutters doesn't rip a hole in the cover. The real trick to this whole cover deal is putting it back in the bag. This is where patience comes in because I can never get it in the bag from the first try, we always have to unroll and roll it up again so that it will fit in the bag. Nice video and love your channel.

Debated on getting a cover for mine, but in a way glad I waited. Right now I am using a 2010 Dutchmen Kodiak 214. But now looking to upgrade this spring so glad I held off! But good to know they are so easy to install

They are, Denis. Folks constantly debate to cover or to not cover, but if you decide to cover that's definitely the easiest way to do it.

Great Job Marc. How to install cover without falling off. Very nice. Yes i see controversy on covered or not. Not sure why a company would say void warranty unless they worried that someone would put one on with no vents or something so trailer could not breath some. Like humidity buildup and warping panels and such. See many covered here in northeast. maybe a little commonsense. Not sure. Nice job. Glad you had a great ski trip. Enjoyed watching !!
@GrandAdventure5 жыл бұрын
Thanks as always NonRev! More of a ski season than a ski trip, but things are starting off nicely here with more snowfall thus far than any other ski resort in North America. I've never understood the issue with covers, either, but it's certainly the subject of debate in the community. I'd rather keep ours out of the elements.

In my neck of the woods, that would be a great place for skunks and woodchucks to live under. Also we get very high winds in the winter from the many nor'easters we get. Crossroads (my make trailer) voids warrantee's if you use a cover. So check your manufacture if you use a cover on a warranted unit. Tip, I've seen people use rolls of toilet paper on the gutter spouts with success. Thanks Marc
@GrandAdventure5 жыл бұрын
Or pieces of pool noodle work well on those downspouts, too. Living at the mouth of one of the Wasatch canyons, 80 mph wind gusts here aren't all that unusual, and we never had an issue with our cover. But yes, some folks have indicated that some manufacturers void the warranty if you use a cover. We don't get that, having never had a warrantied RV ourselves, but I'd also defy any manufacturer to identify who covered their RV and who didn't.

@GrandAdventure5 жыл бұрын
We'd imagine that it would, Denise, but it wouldn't hurt to ask BougeRV. I can't see any reason that it wouldn't if the Class C is 8 feet wide and between 24 and 30 feet long, by purchasing the appropriate size. Everything gets cinched up with the front/back straps and the underbelly straps.

Do you recommend a tarp underneath the cover?
@GrandAdventure4 жыл бұрын
Actually no, we think that would not only be redundant, but also potentially damaging to the RV. You want a cover that fits snugly to prevent any damage from flapping in the wind, and one that breathes to prevent moisture buildup beneath the cover (think mold). Putting a tarp beneath the cover amplifies both of those concerns.
@geebroni41184 жыл бұрын

I'm concerned about the gutter spouts that extend a couple inches on my trailer. Does the cover reinforce the corners?

No because the corners would be in different places, depending on the precise length of your RV. Here's a tip: snip a piece off a hollow pool noodle and put it over the downspouts -- problem solved!

Grand Adventure, great job on this video with a potential mundane subject. We learned a lot and you did a great job explaining all of it. In Florida, we keep ours stored under cover, but we have thought of buying a house with land and it was good to see how we can protect our RV. Good insight on the tires being covered. Question, Do all covers have the zipper section or was that related to the brand you showed? Thanks for a great episode!

Thanks Tom! Most covers have zippered panels, but this one came with more zippers (to open different sections) than our more expensive cover.
