Love the longer videos with commentary. Your wit and funniness is just as good as the actual gameplay. Definitely loving the new farm content

@SpartanElite43 yes sir I am. It's great. I say name the truck "MericaMack" lol. Three loads and the truck and trailer have paid for themself. Planting the other property is going to net ALOT of money

That log cabin fenced in is on your property that’s why it didn’t give you any money when you delivered those planks to it

Awesome truck! I think you’ve reduced transportation time by 75% compared to the logging trailer/tractor? Double the load volume, delivered twice as fast, is that about right? Impressive. This format is perfect, where you’re doing the talking and explaining in real time, and then time lapse the work itself. That way there’s always action. Thanks! I’m enjoying the series.

In future play, i have a Lizard dragon dump truck that has 3 different bed configurations. U can also add a hitch to pull trailers. So when u decide to start hauling grain and things it could be a good option. Unless u want to go bigger for future plans

set my self a challenge on New frontier, non forestry. Trying to do each block of 4 as one field , then one crop per field. 16.19 ac x 4 . Alot of work clearing trees and ploughing but can't wait to see how much I can make . Loving this series

One thing i would probably do is stagger ur tree planting so it wont take so long to grow them and then u have an endless cycle

I'm all caught up on your videos. I believe I am going to miss watching a few of your videos back to back to back. But it's all good, as now any comment I make will be far more relevant and not merely suggesting something you already did. As for my own, "survival," playthrough, I am finding that what I may have wanted to do may not align with what opportunities are allowing me to do. Perhaps reading my story may inspire something in you or in your viewers? I ask you please forgive me for the length of this post. I'm hoping my FS journey may inspire, help or give others ideas. To refresh your memory, I began in Black River, on FS 22, with: my truck; an small, old style Massey Ferguson 45 HP tractor; a tiny 500L fertilizer spreader; a small tilting trailer - just big enough to haul the tractor; 2000L of solid fertilizer in the back of my truck and $164 in cash. (This was the cheapest real survival start I could have, without, "pretending" I had a dead relative or a friend in town). I based the starting set-up on a simple premise, "Look at the contracts available on my map. Which jobs would be the cheapest to get into? No use buying a chainsaw, if there are no contracts involving trees. What else would be the cheapest options?" In my case: the bare bones of a little fertilizer service. Total set-up cost - including the truck - just under 40K I found fertilizing contracts and built up enough money to buy my first piece of property. Mind you, I also hade to consider what was on that property. A potato field, a cotton field, sweet potatoes, corn...? In a month or two, they will all need to be harvested with equipment I do not have and will not have in time for harvest. Sure I could rent - this is all about survival and doing whatever it takes - but do I really want to do that? But there was a field, right next to those fields that was undeveloped, right along the waters edge, that was undeveloped. A 2nd undeveloped field was right next to it (for later purchase). So, now I have a field. No real trees to cut down, but a lot of grass. My first purchase for the property was $750 for a safari-type tent I could use for sleep. "Let me cut down the grass," I thought. Maybe I can make a little bit of money from silage. But with tiny tractor and a tiny mower? This will take forever! Perhaps it is time to upgrade? More fertilizer jobs... Sure, there were harvesting, plowing and other very costly to afford the equipment type jobs. But I have no credit and can't borrow money or rent a damn thing! A few in game hours later, 4 new contracts pop up. One of them paying just over 12K! Unfortunately, another one of those 4 jobs was paying less than 900. By the end, I had made an additional 19K. I did not have the heart to sell off that little 45 hp old Massey... I'm keeping that for future fertilizer jobs. But, with that money added to my existing amount, I was not sitting on just over 24K. For 19.8K I bought a fully upgraded 112 HP McCormick that was narrow enough and short enough to fit on that same trailer. (Note: this tractor could be used for grapes or olives) I now had 4.6K left over. I could have bought a cheap mower for under that or get another fertilizer job to buy the 5.8K mower that not only leaves rows behind it (thus eliminating the immediate need for a windrower); it also matches up with a 10M wide mower that can be purchased WAY into the future. (go figure, 5.8K for the front mower and 148K for the back mower? Yeah, that back mower is going to be a while before I can afford that.. if I ever decode to get it) A few more jobs later, I now had my 112hp McCormick tractor, the mower I wanted and bought a Vicon bailer/wrapper on sale for 78% off (Normally 48K). I mowed my lawn - and to my surprise - I also found several mowing contracts. Since I have the bailer/wrapper, may as well get some use out of it. But here was the amazing part... I only had that tiny trailer to transport the bales to the sell point. I could not take all the bales from those fields at the same time and had to make several trips. The customer's lawn was mowed, I delivered wrapped bales to the sell point and I'm seeing that the contract was complete. But there are still more wrapped bales on the ground! Pick them up. Bring them home. Repeat for the next 3 fields. (Collect BEFORE you hit the "complete" button) In total, I collected 170,000L of silage left over from those contracts (17 - 10,000 L bales)! Add those to the 12 bales I got from my own property. That is almost 300,000L of silage. But how well does it actually pay? Maybe I'll get a few extra thousand, I thought. Note: The 112hp McCormick does not like hills. So, I developed more of a side-to-side pattern, working my way down the hill sort of thing. From the money I made on the mowing contracts, I purchased an autoloading bale trailer. After I finished freaking out that the almost 300K L of silage paid almost 70K - and not 7K, as I expected - I also properly repaired the bailer/wrapper. A couple more fertilizer jobs and I squeezed out just enough to buy the property next door too. I'm in the process of mowing that field now, with a whopping $51 to my name! I was originally thinking - before ever buying my first property and after realizing the cheapest forestry field was way out of my range, "maybe get some chickens and grow some wheat. Save up enough to buy one of the over-priced forestry areas..." No... Friggin' grass!? You can make a fortune just off mowing other people's lawns, by only delivering the bare minimum to complete the contract and keeping the rest for yourself. Will I ever get that 148K 10+M wide trail behind mower? Who knows. Let's see what the future holds. But before I'd even consider that, I'd need to buy a tractor with more than 250 hp to use it. That's another 200+K... That is all going to be a long way away and who knows how things will turn. Whatever happens, I'm just allowing for life to take it's course, see what opportunities the future brings and merely try to survive. Oh, I did also add a water hose, for $50, to my property, to clean my vehicles and equipment. It's cheap, it's chintzy, takes longer than usual, but it works. How does this align with real life? It's not uncommon for owners to allow their workers to keep some of the crops for themselves. Sort of a, "You picked 4,000 bushels of tomatoes. Keep one or two for yourself and your family," sort of thing. I hope this mini-novel helped someone. With whatever you THINK you may do in this game, it may be more interesting and exciting to simply let opportunity take it's course. It's great to have a plan for what you want to do, but sometimes allowing the game to happen and dictate what you should do is often a better option.

Hey spartan, I’ve wanted to do what you’ve been doing with your farm and I just wanted to know how you set things up to start?
@SpartanElite438 сағат бұрын
I clicked on start from scratch and then dropped starting cash to 100k Dropped starting loan to 0 Jumped in bought the truck and chainsaw first. Then found the piece of property i wanted and took out a loan to get just enough money for that property. For me it was a $60k loan From there it's just no leasing, and no more loans, if you do contracts you must own the equipment necessary for the contract. Then you're off to your own devices on how to survive and thrive
