Sole are beautiful eating! We jig a couple of rock fish, eat the filets and put the carcass in the prawn, or crab trap. The soup looked tasty, but it was a bit too hot for the blender. You may not have one, but a hand held blender works better in a large pot as you had. The days are getting longer.....yay!

You may have already answered this question so my apologies. Why wouldn’t the owner of the lodge just shut it up for the season ? I mean I guess your happy they don’t

We are grateful to be able to have this opportunity! The company wants to make sure to have a presence here because the location is so remote, They also want someone here to make sure the pipes don't freeze over the winter, or be able to fix things if anything goes wrong!

flounder are good to eat. What size do they need to be?
@Claysanas13 күн бұрын
We aren’t actually sure but the ones we caught were pretty tiny and figured it would be hard to fillet. We were told that they are kind of mushy meat when cooked. What are your thoughts? Maybe we’ll give it a try

The ones in Australia are considered a good table fish

Are you about half way through your tenure? How is your food supplies holding up? Would you have brought more of certain foods and less of others?
@Claysanas11 күн бұрын
We are! Just over Half way now! We still have lots of food! As far as certain foods, we both agree that we shoulda brought some purdys chocolates haha but then again they will just taste so much better when we get back! We do plan on putting together a video soon on things that we should have brought and the things we could have left.

Halibut? Am i. Correct not flounder ?
@ClaysanasКүн бұрын
The first was a small flounder. The second on was a halibut but it spat the hook just as it came to the surface!

I have to honest, I thought you two would be dealing with a bunch of snow. Really surprised there isn’t more snow.

We did too 😂 we are hoping for snow still. I think it’s snowed here in Feb/March in the past?

I don’t think you are really enjoying this boat trip a bit too close to the rocks with overcast sky’s with the boat constant rocking doesn’t sound to me like a fun day.

Those fish are called "rock sole" *good to eat... They don't get too much bigger than the ones you were catching... 🤙
