James, just a tip when installing your strapping on your rafters. Don’t make your joint (where your two lengths of strapping meet) on the same rafter all the way up the roof. Offset the joints. You can have the joint on the same rafter every second row of strapping, and then two joints every second row of strapping. Think of it like stacking bricks. Provides much greater strength. That’s the best way I can describe it. Not a big deal on a wood shed, but a good habit to get into. Love the channel. You’re doing a great job !!!

Also when you go to store your tracks , lay them on there side , pop boogie wheel caps off , dry out any moisture with rag , then put tiny bit of oil just enough to coat side of bearing , leave them sit for a few hours , pop your caps on , then flip over and repeat on other side , the oil is basically just to keep the rust out , and your bearings will last longer , as a atv tech I’ve seen guys who use them only in snow and they’ve got 9 years no issues

I just watched a 9 episode series called Pioneer Quest, recorded in the year 2000, two couples living the life of pioneers of the 1870's, in rural Manitoba, for 12 months. I was engrossed. Sure fans of Wild Homestead would also enjoy. SO similar, but without any of the modern technologies.

My dad and me watch you videos every Saturday from Scotland we love them, my Dad says when using your generator , uncoil your cable fully or it generates heat in the coil and can catch fire
@Rotthound18 сағат бұрын
@Aimeecat01 ooh excellent comment.. generator fires are a real threat in the forest!! Another safety tip is keep flammables stored far far away from generator shed !! And keep many many fire extinguishers and possible pump system from the river on alternate power source
@Rdlfxs16 сағат бұрын
You'd have to exceed the current carrying capacity of the cable for it to generate enough heat to catch fire, or short it out, I don't see how uncoiling it has anything to do with anything
@Aimeecat0115 сағат бұрын
@ When an extension lead is coiled, the wires are packed closely together, increasing the overall resistance. The closer proximity of the wires means they can generate more heat due to the increased resistance encountered by the flowing electric current
@brucemurray818315 сағат бұрын
Your dad is correct. Not sure if cord will ignite but coiling the extension cord will create an inductor which is an impedance to alternating current. Maybe no fire but a definite inefficiency.
@GrumpyTV1215 сағат бұрын
@@brucemurray8183 I have witnessed an extension cord fire, it was wound up in a reel. They can generate heat enough to catch fire when coiled up, but not sure if this will happen in cold winter months, but hot weather, YES it can
