I am betting, that the use of MAP gas, beings that burns a bit hotter, you can spin the drum faster.... and likely knock out 3 to 4 a minute more? and yes.. I want one of these, but that will have to wait a short moment, as I am still waiting on some other supplies.. But, I will be getting one of these units though...

No need for map gas. Just need to turn the flame up just a tad bit more and about a 1/16th of an inch closer (once you have had a chance to use for some time ya get a method to your madness down for sure),,, and you can speed the annealer up considerably. I usually anneal .308 parent cartridges at about 36 to 39 on the LED display about 6 seconds per anneal, and .223 is usually around 42 to 44 at about 5.5 seconds per anneal. Rick's anneal was just fine and his glow was spot on, its just that his flame wasn't hot enough so the speed had to be turned down to achieve the correct glow. Damn good video for sure. Nice work rick!

To be honest, before you show cased your product, I was already looking to buy a better annealing machine then the 35 year old unit I got from my grandfathers buddy (salt bath in a solder pot) which works just fine for the amount of reloading I was doing for .380 and 9mm, which is all I ever did. But since I have been learning all that I can the past year or two to get geared up for PRS. I started to look into better systems, and the unit I wanted to buy was the electric induction system, until I seen the cost. Which I actually held off of that and just purchased all the parts to make my own induction unit, and then, you did your show case video ,and said to myself.. I am so dang tired of ALWAYS making tools in effort to do something else, and made up my mind, that I new factually, I was/am going to buy one of your units. It is already designed, built, tested, ready to be shipped, then set up and start using. The price is really unbeatable. it is simple, fully adjustable, it is a very clean design, professional looking, appears to not consume valuable real state on a work bench. Boss, I will be getting one of your units.. I am just trying to recover a month of fun spending a little bit... lol. The salt bath old school technique, isn't bad, it is kinda messy, but location the proper salt that has the correct melting point, is all but impossible to find, and I only have about a cup or two left and that doesn't last very long, maybe 500 to 800 cartridges. If I did find the correct salt, that stuff is extremely costly. example, a quart of salt was like 90 bucks, and really takes a bite out of the economy of reloading costs. Pardon the novel.. But, I am really looking forward to buying one of your units for the venture on PRS.. Thank you.

Like the adjustable back plate on the drum. Case stop should be shaped to be out of the flame I think, and a hopper attachment for up to 40 cases or so in stead of single feeding them. Although that may let folks feel they could load it an walk away while it runs...which may not be good.

The problem I have with annealer's like this one (including the Ver. 3 of Annealeez) is that the torch is physically separate from from the device holding the case that is being annealed. If you accidentally bump the torch or annealer, everything is thrown off and you have to re-adjust the torch or annealer.

Wait a minute, Case Hardening? I didn’t know brass would case harden. The necks on my cases are only about 0.012”- 0.014” thick. It seems likely that the temperature would be the same through the thickness of the neck to me?

no one seems to be able to answer this question on annealing. your groups improved how much vs nonannealing...exactly i don't care about going 15 to 20 times on my brass big deal does it shrink groups and if so by how much. thanks

In my opinion it’s more to save life of brass. I am sure it help get a consistent bullet seating pressure but not sure I would notice but there is always someone that can tell you more. I would assume an F class shooter.

Your heating up the bar that runs the length of the case, isn't that going to at some point get hot enough to heat up the whole case? including the case head? Good luck with that

Wow ! Didn't even hear about annealing until couple days ago. I just ordered the EP 2.0. Question: I have probably 2,000 223 cases resized ready to load but not annealed. Can at this point put them through the machine? Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

Not that i am aware of depends on flame and brass thickness. Definitely use a few cases for testing that you keep reusing for only test brass, that’s the best way I know. Hope that helps

Nice machine - but no way would I want to hand feed each case. The unit I have I can stack 200+ cases of 223 and walk away to do something else.

I would never advise walking away and leaving any flame based, and even an induction, annealer unattended what so ever. Regardless if flame OR induction anneaer, you need to babysit the machine. Obviously we are working with extreme temperatures. Id never just start a propane torch, put it on the table running, and go mow the yard. I respect the opinion of why someone would want a hopper especially for quantities over 200pcs. I think once someone actually uses this, especially for those that load 200pcs or less and especially from going from cartridge to cartridge, for me personally, I don't care if it has a hopper at all. Im usually precision reloading 50 or 100 at a time, and especially at roughly 6 seconds per anneal = that's only 5 minutes for 50pcs. If you're feeding a hopper or a fence, you're still feeding the machine & its not like you can just walk away from a flame based annealer & still need to babysit the machine & id rather have the quick adjustable feature of being able to switch from 300blk to 50bmg in less than 30 seconds without having to add or remove any parts. Its crazy fast & crazy easy to set up especially when going from cartridge to cartridge. I have both an annealer with hopper & this, and I like the speed and control of this much more & why I made it this way. By the time I feed a hopper, change out parts, adjust the torch head, especially for only 50 to to 100pcs of brass im already a 1/4 of the way into annealing with the EP 2.0 annealer. Kinda like a single stage vs progressive press debate. Plus, you can stop midway to tweek something or answer a phone, stop annealing and let the machine keep running, and then go back to annealing without changing anything.
