Wonderful listen! Your mother is gold. Thank you for sharing all of this support over the airwaves. My entry point was your interview with Tracey Stewart and that other guy...but seriously...I’m on the path and I thank you! And a big shout out to the Toronto Public Library that has multiple copies of the Engine 2 Cookbook. I love Jon Stewart and mourned the loss of his voice each night when he left tv. But what a positive life change for him and his family. Yay! Keep on rockin’ in the free world!

Love your Mom’s savory oatmeal. I add black beans and try to eat it every day.

I always tell people in a 'mixed relationship' to cook 'sides' and let the meat eaters add a grilled piece of meat, chicken, fish, etc. I also request no oil, and I prefer no sugar or salt. It can be added at the table. Yes, $14.00 is a small price to pay for health. Thank you, Plant Strong, for growing up to carry the message of health to us all. One of my favorite meals is rice and beans. I don't like rinsing them. Why throw away the cooking liquid? It can be used instead of oil in salad dressing, etc. My favorite bean is Eden beans cooked with kombu. Makes a great broth. I add a couple handfuls of frozen chopped kale, and voila. If I start taking tastes of things from my past, and I have, I tend to go off track and struggle to get back on... a la 'the Pleasure Trap.' I love your mom. We are of the same era, so I look to her for help. She needs to know how many people she's helping. Thanks to Ann for that secret little recipe... Sounds magnificent. She is so wise about changing... Keep posting these wonderful podcasts. Love the pizza idea. We don't have a Whole Foods around here but can make a compliant pizza crust from potatoes...or. Thanks to Ann for being there, and your other guest.
