Oh my goodness... every minute of this podcast was amazing. I needed this after losing my mom 5 months ago and can totally relate to the last caller. I've isolated myself to the point where I recognize it'll become unhealthy if I continue "cutting the fat" out of my life. Thanks to counseling, I'm learning to separate my latest loss from all the other losses and points of grief I've experienced. This episode supplements my session. Thank you for hitting every topic and experience I've needed to address in this time. This was a godsend.

Everytime I watch a great episode, at the end I think...."There's no way that they can find another interesting topic" and then BAM! Keep proving me wrong guys :)

Wow this was so insightful, thank you so much! Last week I was "cued" for the first time in months with an overwhelming sense of emotion from dancing which is something I love to do but the sense of vulnerability I was able to express through my body allowed me to cry and let out the feelings of Trauma I had suppressed. I love that I can now see this as a cue and not a trigger because I dont want associate dancing with trauma but see it as a positive way for me to have recognised my emotions, move forward and deal with these feelings.

I felt the same way when my abusive boyfriend and I broke up... I didn't want to keep ANYTHING he ever gave me. Instead of giving stuff to Goodwill, It went into the dumpster. Things do have a memory attached.

This podcast was one of the best I’ve heard so far from you guys. This really helped a lot. I lost my brother when I was 7 & it’s a trauma I’ve lived with all my life. I felt I had dealt with most of it, & I have, but things still do “cue” me as she said. Then I try not to feel those emotions. But now I understand the importance of doing so. Thank you guys for this insightful discussion.

Oh gosh that pushed many buttons for me, I hace experienced much trauma in my life and had various talking therapies but no one has taught me how to process my emotions. ......how do you do it?
@Sky-Child2 жыл бұрын
I know your comment was a year ago but I wanted to reach out. talking therapies did not work for me. I recommend the Dialectical Behavioural Therapy workbook for written excersizes to make sense of thought patterns and also some kind of physical therapy such as vagus reset to try and release trauma stored in your body. I am not a psychologist at all, just a hurt person who found something that works
