It always seems to me that when I spend too much time in the cities, I'll adopt a "less optimistic" view of things. Just when it starts to get to me, I'll get a run that takes me into the back roads towns in Wyoming, Colorado, Montana or Idaho and I'm telling you that those kids, and those parents know how the world works. You'll get politeness, consideration and a slower, more peaceful pace with things. Heading into the country always restores my faith in the next generation. We're going to be just fine.. Thank you for these videos. Safe travels!

You are so correct scott! I love staying away from the cities for this very reason. Well that and the traffic. Lol

Nathan, NICELY DONE INDEED!! Now wait a second... YOU TARPED SOMETHING?!?!? What has this world come to lol. It truly is awesome to see parents today actually TEACHING their children, manners, responsibility, work ethic, and respect. Nathan truly sounds like an awesome young man. You weren't too terribly far from me on your second delivery, perhaps a couple of hours or so. Mrs. Mayhem has two requests... 1st according to her you need a black stetson... and 2nd, there has been a polite request for the regrowth "of the fur" lol. I am very grateful to hear that despite a failure to communicate, and a very slight and minor traffic delay you were able to make all of the loads. Stay safe my friend, and keep the Beast's shiny side up. Much love and prayers from my family to yours.🙏💜

I couldn't agree more with how Brian is bringing Nathan up. Super good people. Tell Momma Mayhem that if you guys go back to the wreaths across america videos from last December you will see me in my black stetson. I actually own 4 Stetsons but they are so expensive I don't like take them to work with me. The "fur" is a winter thing and is about to come back. I just had a event this weekend I didn't want to be half scruffy for. Lol to be fair it takes my baby face FOREVER to grow a beard so don't get the expectation to high. Lol thanks again and God bless you both!
@mayhemsmaster50502 ай бұрын
@@PatriotSpecialized I hear you, the last time I purchased one they were stupidly expensive... and I probably don't want to kniw what they run now lol. Yes Mrs. Mayhem has seen all of the videos... yet still grumbles when she has to go without seeing a black Stetson. I own a few in a variety of colors, and yes it's getting time to bring the darker colors out lol. As far as "The Fur" I hear you. When she finally convinced... begged me. To go from goatee to full beard it took forever as well, and tjere is tje added grooming time... It's actually quite funny if I shave down to just a handle bar mustache I look like I am in my middle thirties... and get carded for purchasing smokes lol. I didn't realize that Nathan's dad and I share the same first name. Stay safe my friend... I think it's time for the Beast to have a bath and coat of polish lol. Much love and prayers, stay safe my friend..🙏💜

Being a professional driver, I respect your efforts; along w your videos that are like cookies too. Those occasional disruptions that may ruffle a respectable driver's 'feathers', are sourced by disrespect of driver time. Imagine.... that warehouse company boss getting his/her time wasted..... Can't blame a truck driver for being on-time for his appt. But, there are 'all kinds' of truck drivers now; to suit the reckless greed of shippers/receivers/brokers/mega-trucking corps.... not any hint of respect, in that. When I was doing LTL refer (NYC & NJ mostly), I was sent to a corporate abuser of truckers in Woodbridge. Although I was hourly (w OT), I care about my employer (and my REAL off-duty hours). ALL drivers were told to check-in at security gate, hand them BOL, and ordered to wait until summoned from truck. I spoke w other drivers there, and got impression this was SOP abuse there (av. 4 hr wait), every time they come there. Next time my employers sent me there (for 1st stop again), I checked-in, told security da BOL stays w load, and went back to rig. Gave them 30 mins to call me into dock. Then, I went to deliver ALL my other stops (asked Billy to reshuffle my load in Bronx), and return to Woodbridge abuser. Went to security n complained they ain't called me yet! Security called warehouse n their manager asked me to bring truck in and come to office. As I waited watching manager shuffling papers for awhile, I asked, "Is there a problem?" She flustered replied, "I can't find your BOL." I replied, "No problem... I have it right here!" Rushed me to open dock, offloaded in record time, and my employers were aghast..... no other driver ever delivered his loads completely (w that particular warehouse 1st), and made it back to terminal in that kind of time! Sheet, me even stopped short of terminal, to take my 2 hour break, w Häagen-Dazs & MADD magazine! (That's the way it was spelled, until Mothers Against Drunk Drivers wanted 'MADD' for their moniker. Heck, how bout FADM, Fathers Against Drunk Mothers.....¿?!!)

That's a great way to handle that BS these shippers and relievers are doing. I have heard pur van guys complaining about 4 5 6 hour wait times to unload or reload. Crazy how these companies think this is ok.

@@PatriotSpecialized Oh, that's just one story Sir..... I was just trying to get as excellent as you n many other Professional drivers (many of whom retired decades ago)..... Most all of my customers were very helpful pals; esp NYC, during the period I did that gig. Some would let me sked as early as midnight. Billy said his warehouse opens 0330. Both him n his crew ran out to stop/guide traffic (on my first delivery there).... I backed-in SAFE n quick, tween other trailers (inside, well-lit warehouse dock).... they were all smiling at me, like I were some trucking king.... respecto. Well, when I needed a re-shuffle of my malignant union dock loads, Billy's crew did it safe n quick, in bout 15 mins! (My union terminal took hours, n loaded me a defective pallet jack; to slow me down, for sure [long story]). ....Met a young Jamaican OO (excellent driver who helped me get my rig unlost) in Brooklyn, who wasn't making righteous dough, dedicated to a small distributor. Said he bought nice place (w good schools) in Allentown, PA, and that commute was drawing against his deadhead commute. I asked if he knew other OOs as capable as he, delivering da 5 boroughs. Yes, he said. I told him what to do, starting w forming their own LLC. I told him to visit my employers, after he talks over w his partners. I already had other, new, prospective employers lined-up. Sheet, he even asked me to name his new venture!! I seen many Metropolitan trucks out there... me quipped, "How bout 'METRO'?" Apparently, they liked it, cuz bout 2 weeks later METRO started taking some of the loads, outta my term. I gave notice and moved on.... months later, I crossed paths w a former union driver from my employer, and he told me the company pink-slipped all drivers and that METRO was doing all the loads. Since much of ancillary circumstances of my union shop were left out for brevity, you may jump the trigger n cap me as traitor to my home team.... but, rest assured, this was biblical karma. Everywhere I go/went I sometimes 'tip da scales' in da 'good guys' favor. But, it's like a tennis serve.... or a setup for making a basket.... it's still up to da good guys to see it through, for as long as they might like. I never did any flatbed, much less oversized,. But I did do many scenic Xcountry rides on motorcycle; w bout 200 lbs bungied to frame n sissybar of motorcycle(s). When I started trucking, I picked my driver-trainer n learned from one of the very best. When other drivers would whine bout being away from home n strange locations..... I could only reflect, "Where else you gonna find a job RVing all around the country, meeting all kinda people, having all fuel paid, and even getting PAID to enjoy it, eh?!! Happy trails.....
@josephbadulak91462 ай бұрын
.....BTW, one occasion Billy was getting like at least half-trailer load of butter...... We exchanged friendly greetings on dock n Billy said he was surprised my company didn't cancel the load. He said that overnight the price of butter unexpectedly spiked. As I was safe-quickly offloaded, an attractive office lady came on dock to inform I had an urgent phonecall from my company. As a trucker one can often recollect calling their company n getting put on hold or dropped... like a soiled rag. This time I put them on hold.... till I had completed my delivery at hand. Then I went to answer phone, sales told me to claim customer 'refused' load, and bring it back to yard. I told her the load has been delivered w signatures. Though Billy hit a jackpot that day, I found out he split the 'winnings' w my company. I prefer dealings w people of Character, such as Billy is.

Keep that picture the kid did forever. I had a kid living near me do the same back in 1980 when my conv freight shaker sported the same color as your truck. The best part that kid i took on a few loads i ran into just a few months ago. He had his own trucking company and writes for overdrive now and than. I handed him the picture he drew back in the day. Wife and i watch your videos all the time. Good job 👍
