This episode came out of nowhere to become one of my favourites of all time. Really interesting reflections on what gives us that enduring drive to keep doing what we're doing

As someone who started lifting at age 40, parts of this conversation break my heart. To be fair, I started lifting to combat childhood trauma (trauma informed weightlifting) and it has given me a new lease on life. I wish I found it sooner, however, had the chance to see how strong I could have become before the age wall hit.

I'm glad Dave Tate came up in this. I don't know how the main lifts will feel in a couple decades and I don't know what the state of Masters 2+ will be, but it wouldn't surprise me if I'm doing some weird variations just because I want to feel something heavy.

I've always wondered how tall Mike T. He really dwarfs some people that normally look pretty big.

Mike T is surprisingly big in person. Everyone knows intellectually that 6ft 265lbs is big, but the internet plays tricks.
