You talk about "people who help spend their lives helping people have it figured out". I am a nurse practitioner who helps give care to inmates with mental and drug issues. It always helps after a hard day to follow you and Wavy's travels and dream of my own. God bless you. Plus my French bulldog, Gunner loves watching Wavy so your channel promotes family togetherness. :D

I'm glad that our little channel and videos help you relax after all of that. Wavey is probably looking forward to moving off the boat this summer. Oct-June is a long time for a beagle;)

I often forget just how busy of lives most people are living today. Sometimes it even catches up to us (trust me) the little things become "big things" (like today, I can't find a socket to change the spark plugs) it's life in general. That said, we run into that "peaceful easy feeling" more often out here than anywhere else;)

After me and Julie retired from the Air Force we knew we wanted to move to Florida, especially around the Florida Keys but we weren't ready to drop our life savings on a house or a piece of property so we end up purchasing a sailboat. We both come from a solid background of sailing and how to maintain them. We purchased a Privilege 615 Catamaran for a fair price and lived aboard her for 12 years in the Florida Keys on the hook. We saved enough in those 12 years to purchase our condo in Key Largo. I've always heard you lose money when you own a boat, but that's not always true, the catamaran we bought was a bank repossession that we paid $350,000. We did do some major upgrades to her in the 12 years we owned her and resold her for $1.2 million.....

@@karaDee2363 At the time we decided to sale the catamaran is when that hurricane hit the British Virgin Islands and destroyed 1000 of boats including a lot of Cat's that were used for charters. So those charter companies were scrambling to find boats to replace the damaged ones. They saw this up for sale sent, without even seeing the boat, they sent a bank check for what we were asking, after the check cleared, they flew a crew into Marathon airport on a private charter jet and sailed it back to the BVI's.

That was very interesting about Chico Island. I wish I was a little younger to do what you are doing, wondering around on water ways enjoying nature. I'm 78 years old. I've had numerous boats. My wife and I did a lot of trips in south fla. And keys and Dry Tortugas . We had a ball doing these little side trips while on a short vacations here and there. But not what your doing, I've always wanted to sell house and live on a house boat traveling all over. Wife passed a year ago and I've just been lost after 52 yrs being married. Your trip in your house boat has been good for me to see what you have on your videos. Please keep it up. I love the ventures. Thanks 🧜‍♂️👌❤️

I enjoy your videos and just wanted to jump on here and wish you welcome to Florida, although by the weather, this video was from a while ago. We are fulltime RVers and live in a state park a few miles east of Inglis. It can be amazing when you're wondering how or if to help someone and God will put something right in front of you. We always pray that He will show us those who need help and make sure to "point them out" when our paths cross. Nothing better than the feeling that God used you to answer someone else's prayers. Give Wavy a hug, she's obviously Beagle to the bone. (I could tell by how nicely she walks on a leash.) Safe travels and keep looking up.

We have been through a ton of stuff since 2016 that seemed horrible at the time but it turned out to be a very affirming experience. It feels like a real treat to have a new video 40 minutes long on a Wednesday. I love it❤ Deep thoughts, is I agree that Shanty boat is better than a second land-based home . Most of us do all tend to collect things, so we need a home base to keep things we cherish. But it would be a lot better if we could just free ourselves from all that clutter. Or as George Carlin called it, " Stuff".. which he was absolutely right, since we always bring our stuff with us everywhere we go and and where we go, we end up bringing more stuff back with us. I’m glad I stumbled onto your channel. I love your boat. I have a suggestion for you about fresh water. I’m pretty sure someone else may have already suggested what I’m about to. Since you have gutters on both sides of your boat, why not put a downspout and to say a couple of 5 gallon buckets or even a 5 gallon or 10 gallon tank so every time it rains you’ll have freshwater. This is only a suggestion. I really do admire what you’re doing! I think it’s awesome!

I have watched several videos of people making houseboats out of pontoon boats, but no one put gutters or captures rainwater. I am fairly sure that it wouldn’t save you a lot of money in the beginning, but I think it would over the long run.

Howdy. Welcome. Thanks for finding us. Not always easy. I do have plans for harvesting rain water as you describe. I spend most of my time on the great lakes, so fresh water isn't a big issue. If we ever go to the Bahamas...that would be a good way to have fresh water;)

Hi, I just found your channel.very cool. I've had it in my mind to do a solo trip on the waterways with a little house boat too or a sailboat. You go my speed as well, taking it easy enjoying the scenery. I'm in western north carolina looking to see where I can pick up a similar route down into the gulf. Any suggestions on the kind of vessel you have? What engine do you use? What's your gas mileage like? Very cool. Happy cruising.😊

You are living for self during this adventure, but you helped that lady today and I am sure you help people when you are home. It is about balance. Good video today even with the disturbing elements of people living tough lives. One observation on the non-ethanol fuel. I’m an advocate of using it, especially in my restored motorcycles that sit unridden for long periods, but it’s probably not something you need for the day to day running of your main motor because you’re using fuel quickly and it doesn’t have long to absorb moisture from the air. However it I think it is a good thing to fill up the scooter and trolling motor with non-ethanol as the fuel sits in those tanks for a long time. Cheers

Something to watch out for and I'm hoping it's an isolated event fuel samples was pulled by a boat shop tech one that the person swears they only buy non ethanol and another that buys what's cheapest or most convenient (yes that was mine) the claimed non ethanol had several percent higher than mine my thought is someone is untruthful or a business is being shady.

There is a island beside the e Pensacola Navy base marine there that is between land like a inlet, anyway there is always 3-5 house boaters there where people be park there, it stop the wind from hitting your boat. Whenever I go down every March or June or July and October, they be there. I haven’t been there since 2022 though because the bases have raise their fees on base rooms to stay, it use to be $60-80 a night and now it’s like $200 or more a night there. It’s cheaper to stay at a motel now.
