Let's just be honest. A 9-5 is only okay if you make enough cash to live nice and still afford two vacations per year. Anything less than that, you should strive to either get a pay rise, or change jobs. Like, living okay and getting two vacations per year shouldn't be a luxury, it should be the minimum, even for a Macdonald's employee who has worked 1+yrs. Living with 3-4 vacations and getting nice stuff is above the standard, that might not be achievable even if you work hard as a fry cook or streetsweeper or whatever. But, there are some standards, that should be maintained, not only by employee, or employer, but by society at large. Given the possibility of western society, we can do it, so why don't we make each others lives comfortable. We CAN do it. Obviously, if you don't work and are ffd up, you don't deserve anything above survival, but if you work full time, you already make enough cash pure, that your boss can get all kinds of nice stuff, so you deserve a fair cut. Two vacations and living like a human is minimum. That's my family business policy, and at least for now we are in business and employees are loyal. And we can afford like 3-4 vacations still, so it's doable. Maybe we could skin them more, but in the end, the trouble of constantly replacing employees would be a bigger hassle than just paying a fair share. And morally, reading about people working full time and not affording basic living makes my blood boil.
