That venom is fresh! But i do like the look of the skips custom apache more. Colors are more neutral for my taste and also has the custom cuts and touches. This just shows atlas is top dawg right now in 2011's if everyone is using there parts.

Just watched your apollo video but i believe you graded that 91? You said the apollo and Erebus were 93 here? Erebus was also 91 in your reviews? Leaving the Venom as the highest ever?

I recently revamped my 2011 ratings. The Apollo and the Erebus are now 93's and the Venom Customs steel frame a 92.

Great Question. Historically they haven't. Mine is not ported. But they have a ported version coming soon. I'll be doing a review on it in the next couple of weeks.

I gotta be real Fam. I don’t agree on this one. I honestly think Venom should change its name to Atlas Custom or Venom Gunsmith’s. They didn’t make the Atlas, they tweaked it. I’m surprised Atlas hasn’t taken them to court for representing an Atlas as a “Venom Custom” gun. In my opinion this gun is an Atlas that has just been upgraded like your Staccato. You wouldn’t call your Staccato the “GaryOkie Custom.” It’s still an upgraded Staccato XC. Ooh, I agree with @Thomas on the Hayes, LOL.

So Atlas wouldn't take them to court. Because Atlas has a relationship with Venom. They appreciate that there is a market for what Venom does and they clearly don't want to do it. They have a similar arrangement with Rafferty as you will soon see. I think it's very reminiscent of what Taran does. But to be clear, I'm judging the gun not the manufacturer.

Completely not true. These guns are built by hand by me. One man shop. I do not modify an existing gun. This model is a gun built with a lot of atlas’s parts. I buy the parts as a kit from atlas. There are three builders that can get these parts from atlas. So you can contact me if you like and I can tell you how all that came about. Again. Each gun is fit and built by me.

@@2ANLA aah! That makes sense Fam. Actually a very smart business decision. We talked about it before how Atlas wants nothing to do with customization. It would take more time to get the guns to market and really isn’t worth the headache. Instead, they just crank out great guns. A relationship with custom shops makes total sense. Give the customer what they want and make even more selling their guns and parts to them. No harm no foul. Again, you taught me something. Thanks Fam!

I'd say there is a lot to that Thomas. They take a base atlas kit and customize it until it becomes unique. Very similar to what Taran does with his guns. I would say that you could definitely just buy an Atlas and the shooting experience will be very similar but the aesthetics on the Venom are next level.

Nice looking gun, but for 7.5k, it does nothing better than your basic bul armory or staccato 2011. Solid pass for me.

This is why the affordability portion of my review is only worth 5 points. My focus is which gun is the best. The value of a dollar is different for every individual. Someone is watching a Staccato video and saying "$2500? I get better reliability out of my Glock 17 with an Apex trigger. That's a hard pass!" As someone who owns over 20 2011s I can tell you that this gun is superior to every Staccato in almost every way. Whether it's worth the money. That's 100% an individual opinion. When you hold it in your hands and shoot it, you will immediately understand there is a huge difference between this and bul/Staccato. If you don’t have the money obviously you cannot go wrong with Bul, but the difference is definitely there and noticeable. My bul fitting is not that tight at all out of the box. It’s just very different vs what I have for Atlas.

@@CR12221 honestly if you will value a painting based on how much paint it’s worth, then this is not for you. You are correct, but as you implied this is not for you. 😂 If you are happy with Bul or Staccato or Springfield there is zero reason you look into this. But there are some people find it valuable to pay for the work Don has devoted to as his career. Nobody is wrong here, just different people value different things.

@jianwei2009 No one is talking about the value of the parts. I'm talking proformance, and there is little to no increase in performance at the price for guns of this price. You refer to paintings and paint, which is nowhere the same. This is a tool , so the comparison is void. And if you're wondering, I've shot next to people with these high-end guns, and it did nothing for them other than look good in hand.

As is it beats all my Atlas guns with the exception of the Erebus and the Apollo. If it was ported it would definitely beat the Apollo, assuming the porting job is comparable, and it would be right there with the Erebus.
