I now cannot get a doctor because I refused to take statins. My cholesterol numbers were elevated due to carnivore. I'm 40lbs lighter and bloodwork is perfect all except for my CRP which is now only recently out of whack, yet doctors don't care about that. All they care about is feeding the pharma cow. I have lost all respect for the medical profession.

Actually I’ve taken statins on and off for decades but not for the last 15 years or so. Fortunately I’ve never had a bad side-effect - or a lowering in the numbers that statins are supposed to lower. Absolutely no effects positive or negative, which may be just as well.

@@markiangooley Not YET seen any problems, etc. If the dangerous affect were quick and obvious, the statins would have been taken off the market years ago and the Drs. and drug companies would have been sued out of business. They know there are long term dangers and that's all a part of their plan... Just my opinion.

My doctor (drug pusher) is freaking out about my LDL right now even though my triglycerides and HDL are perfect, as is my blood pressure, blood sugar, and I’m at a healthy weight. My LDL wouldn’t have been considered high before the invention of the statin. I so needed to hear your talk today Dr. Cywes. You keep me on track and remind me why I changed my lifestyle. Love this -as a physician a retiring cardiologist basically told this to my medical school class 30 years ago …a doc asked “if we don’t write a statin and one of our patients gets a heart attack and we are sued what should we do ? “ he answered “I’ll write a letter of support at your malpractice trial “ I remember thinking 🤔 why would the AMA and all the other cardiologist be on board with this ? The retiring cardiologist predicted we will have skyrocketing diabetes and mental health problems …all this has come true …thank you for all you do -there is a big disconnect in ignorance of diet and inflammation

As honest and accurate as this is, it will help the skyrocketing sales of GLP1s for weight loss. And we wait for the side effects that cannot be reversed. We are talking nearly $3 TRILLION dollar expense to the medical system, absolutely dwarfing the cost of insulin and treatment of T2D. Health care is collapsing right before our eyes. Driven by profits rather than common sense health treatments. The answer? Education about carbohydrates, ultra processed foods and insulin resistance. And personal responsibility. That will free up resources for people who are unable to do it themselves.

There's not much profit for pharmaceutical companies that provide a drug to help people (-temporarily-) bring their insulin resistance and inflammation under control, with a view to stopping the drug after the patient improves their diet. Instead, I'm thinking the mindset will be more along the lines of, "Keep eating whatever you want and take this drug for life." Why would you replace statins with glp1 instead of treating type 2 with very low carb diets and exercise protocols especially now that we are seeing the harmful effects of glp1's. In a percent of the population which may become more elevated gastroparesis is no joke. Why are we not giving patients the support they need to incorporate tailored diet and exercise protocols including support for changing mindset in the face of carbohydrate addiction. And, why are CGMs so expensive and only covered by insurance if you are on insulin. Insurance companies would save money down the line by aiding people to autonomously manage their disease.

It always amazes me that people come out against a fabulous drug that makes huge improvements in your health yet they justify taking a whole bunch of other medications and supplements as if those are better supplements should come from food and you should never need any medications but if you are going to require a medication should you not use the most effective one just saying
@Rick-zw7zv
@Rick-zw7zv Ай бұрын
@@robertcywes2966 Supplements have a better risk benefit ratio. Yes, they may be less effective but how effective do they need to be if you’re adopting lifestyle changes? Medications often work so well that there is no incentive for the patient to make dietary and lifestyle changes. Weighing risk benefits is a complicated matter in people whose bodies are already ravaged by decades of diabetes, it has to be determined for each individual case and it’s impossible to make a general statement on the efficacy of this drug if the criteria is longevity.

Robert you know my fellow cardiologists are being pressured to use "safer" newer non statin drugs to lower ldl as well as use glp1 and sglt2 drugs. The wish is to be on all three. We touched on this a little in january. They want an ldl less than 40. I dance around this as well as i can, with "shared descision making" but public disagreement leads to cancellation.at least for a cardiologist.Notice how Dr Budoff did not comment at all about ldl. So, statins raise blood glucose, they don't prevent placque build-up, can cause dementia and they shut down the liver for several hours after ingesting the drug. I cannot figure out the benefit, unless having perfect LDL and HDL levels and low total cholesterol is the goal while ignoring all the other threats to health. I have a difficult time taking my statin for these reasons, so I take it maybe every 3 days.

When glucose is enterally OVERsupplied the persistent storage hormonal milieu and poorly controlled hyperglycemia cause HARM OVER TIME. When Hyperglycemia is because of CELLULAR DEMAND and glucose comes from internal stores the hormone milieu is quite different and KETONES are almost always present. Demand or utilization hormonal state governed by glucagon and adrenaline and as far as we're aware this does not cause damage and is rapidly cleared

Dr Ken Berry has some videos about what blood tests to get. He also has a book titled Common Sense Labs. Do a YT search for: _dr ken berry inflammation_ and _dr ken berry blood tests_ From the book: One test for inflammation is the *HS-CRP* (high sensitivity C Reactive Protein) while some believe it’s a test specifically related to only cardiac issues, it is actually a non-specified marker of inflammation. Very often implicated with cardiac issues, it can also be high due to other inflammation issues such as autoimmune issues, injury or illness. Because of it's non-specific nature, follow up of high readings is always indicated. Make sure you are testing hs-CRP, not simple CRP as that test is not sensitive enough to deliver useful information.
