My grand parents had rice three times a day everyday. Grandma lived at 104 and grandpa lives at 97. I’m Japanese. There are a lot of 100 years old people here in Japan, and they also basically eat rice three times a day, at least twice a day. Its no problem if you eat rice. There are tons of living evidences.

Thank you Dr Eckberg. Unforunately my spouse ended up with one RAD & one LAD heart stent last week. I'm a nurse & I tried for years to get him to be open to, listen to, & absorb this vital info. He ate the typical toxic "southern" US blood vessel & heart destoying diet for the entire first half of his life. He then met me & I began trying to teach him (as did my late father who was a DO), about heart healthy eating - but he would only do a bit & kept consuming quite a few destructive to heart health foods. The damage is now done & he now says he will eat, exercise & rest properly to recover from the stent placements & Periarditis that lead to finding the blocked cardiac arteries. I know eating heart healthy foods will help my health as well. I pray he will keep a positive & willing attitude & stay on this much healthier path with me - for the rest of his earthly life.

Thank you Doc! So nice to have more professionals to bring light here! For my friends here, remember that the illness we may be suffering is not an enemy. Is the result of our own behaviors and lifestyle. One food, one thing you stop eating, etc, will help but is just part of an STRATEGY we must be designing for our own health. I was very sick since childhood, overweight, mad, stressed, etc...and part of my "problem" was my own mind and believes. Keep learning from the Doc, learn from other sources, put into ACTION and TEST IT on yourself. The biggest change I made in my lifestyle brought me the biggest changes and open the door for other more important transformations. These 2 things took me courage, but I was in pain and with poor digestion. With anger all the time. 1- I stopped eating ALL KINDS OF CARBS for 1 month. ZERO bread, pasta, cookies, rice, etc. 2- Started to drink 1.5 liters of water every day. Good water. After that month I lost 5 KG, I was for the first time in my life waking up with energies and more positive, and my digestion improve a lot! Be brave! you can make it! Get some friends to do it together! Do it for yourself FIRST!

@cindyd2430 It is the easiest thing to do and most enjoyable too, to increase one's awareness by expanding consciousness. Just go to a TM Centre to be instructed.

White rice has a lower glycemic index than instant oat meal. Sure, eating lots of white rice alone is not good for you but if you eat it with beans or vegestables or meat then its a great part of a healthy diet. Think of white rice as a vehicle for other much healrhy foods that would taste boring otherwise without rice in the mix.

He speaks the true. When I started having heart palpitations. I went to work one day and was rushed to the hospital in the rain. My heart was beating fast and it wouldn't stop. While on my way to the hospital I was pumped up with 3 different medications. Surprise! none of them helped. When I got to the hospital they hooked me up to the heart monitor and gave me in 30 min increment two other drugs. Heart still beating fast. My friend came into the room talked to me and slowly my heart slowed down. This is after and hour. The cardiologist finally made his appearance. So I said what is my diagnosis. What he said made me not trust doctors especially to the fact he didn't do any tests to even have a diagnosis. He said the last medication I was given worked and I should take that medication for the rest of my life. In addition he recommends I do some heart surgery with useless medical terms to confuse me and continued to say it has a 30% chance of working, what!. Then I ask so what caused the heart palpitations. He said a multitude of things. In short he didn't know. He wrote me a prescription for the drug and left. I walked of the hospital threw the drug prescription in the garbage. In that moment desided to answer this question. What caused my heart palpitations? I first started by stop eating everything and slow start introducing foods see if how my body reacts to it. I found the 3 things that caused my heart palpitations 3.lack of water I would go days with no water 2. Stress anytime I got overwhelmed 1. SUGAR I tried all different types of sugar they affect me just the same. This man knows what he talking about.

I went from A1C 8.5 to 4.6 by interval fasting, 90% less beer, candy sparingly instead of daily, more walking, more water, no soda, no juice, some fruit with nuts and seeds, minimal UPF sparingly as throwbacks to childhood or treats a few times per month max. It's not about cutting everything out, just radically minimizing the unhealthy junk and UPF. My former kryptonite was Salted Cocomels or dairy free caramels on Amazon in 3 bag packs, I would stay up late reading wikipedia eat all three bags and order more online, for years. I had to give that up. Cutting back on beer to less than 1 per day from 4 per day, radically improved my digestive health, and many days no beer, or alt with sipping sugar free spirits for flavor in 1/2 oz serving split with my lovely wife. Cleaning up the mind of toxic negativity really helps too. I reversed Type 2 diabetes and my BP this way ;)

I put my understanding of what your words have meant to me into practice. The results have been nothing less than amazing. My blood panel went from one less digit of being a Type 2 diabetic to my hemoglobin A1C (diabetes test) is now normal with glucose being 91 mg/do (70-110) with my LDL "bad cholesterol" is coming down now at 126 from over 220. My HDL good cholesterol" is increasing from 7 to 36.2. Cholesterol is now at 181 mg/do. Triglyceride is 92 mg/do (40 - 160). In writing by my health professional stated: "Amazing work." With 50+- other tests falling into normal range as well. I am 75 years old and have been walking everyday since fathers day for 30 minutes every day. Just watched your exercise video the other day and have cut the walking workout to every other day with Sunday as a day of rest. Also have incorporated 2 minute power ride on stationary bike on walk days. Your video on exercise came right out of asking myself those exact questions & more. No fooling I ask and there you are with detailed answers. It's like asking/dialing and there you are even with sound. I am so pleased I am 75. Since incorporating your knowledge into my life's routine my overall health has improved drastically in other ways too I understand how people might think I was exaggerating or making things up so I'll avoid mentioning them. Nothing less than incredible results have occurred with ailments that have 100% disappeared. Our bodies are composed of approximately 45 trillion cells with each one having its own mission which are individually created to perform a certain function perfectly given the proper nutrients as they were intended for. You've proven to me that food of yesteryears can heal my body by myself taking the proper action in seeing that it gets what it needs. I am pleased beyond words. So I'll put it this way your truly gifted by you know who and I am too because I believed in you and here you are as well. Guess that makes us miracle workers but simple truth is you just speak the truth from your soul and I listened with mine. Thank you!!

@@boots7859 I'm fasting now. I eat two meals a day between 11am and 5:30pm. I'm walking about 3mph for 30 minutes and power bike for 1 1/2 minutes every other day. Stopped all sugar *except in my one 6 oz flat tsp of decaf cup of coffee that's in the creamer. (*Cane ) In six months I've lost 33lbs. No sodas, candy, chocolate, ice cream, donuts & pastries, no pies, no bread except 4 slices of sour dough a week. I'm having one large avocado a day, 4 eggs 5 days a week, need to get HDL higher. Lots of spinach, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and romaine/spring mix daily. Salmon every other day and sardines. Grass fed hamburger, chicken and instant pot beef stew with vegetables with no potatoes. Apple cider vinegar and olive oil & coconut oil. PITA was when the doctor told me I had tumors in both lungs and lymph nodes & more. Went a vita mix blend diet for two months with adding 20+- items/lack of a better word protocols to that blend. Two 64oz blenders full of greens, no sugar, no carrots, pea protein and natural vitamins. I was homeless at the time and had to scavenger for electricity such as at markets that had machines out front, storage facilities, places that catered to the homeless. Borrowed money for blender that micro processed the vegetables and took it back at the suggestion of the employee's recommendation of the stores policy for any reason. Since then have bought two more of them one for the person who loaned me the money and one for me. I was blending occasionally and am now planning on daily blends starting on August 31st. I didn't understand your two separate set of acronyms could you spell them out to me at the bottom of your message. Thank you for your response greatly appreciated it. Am going to look into your suggestion about the keto video it was on my radar. I just got my blood work a few days ago and wanted to see how I stood with what I have been doing. I was surprised that my HDL was still below the minimum though.

Thank You @Atheist-Pinar. I am now dubbing the original English audio track into multiple languages so I can get the message of health out to more people around the world. Depending on what region you are in when you click the video, and based on what your default language settings are, KZbin will automatically serve it out to you in that language. To choose your preferred language for a given video, simply go to the bottom right of the screen, (or maybe top right on mobile), and click on the gear icon (Settings). Then click on "Audio track" and select the language of your choice. I am diligently working to translate and upload more videos in more languages every day, but it will still take some time to get most or all of the videos translated. Thank you for watching and feel free to share this feature if you know people who prefer another language. So far there are over 80 videos translated to Dutch

Yes he did say it is the addition of processed foods that make the rice negative. In cultures where food is made at home and it's not highly processed-- and people have rice as main staple-- it is not an issue. It was clear listening to him that he meant that processed and junk food (including candy and breads, deserts, and all that) are the bad guys and kind of the catalyst that makes it problematic for the body to even have rice.

Hello Doctor Ekberg! First of all, I want to thank you for introducing me to all the aspects and benefits of fasting! I have now gone from three (bad) meals per day plus snacks to only one meal per day (on the days that I eat). I try to take one entire day off per week and, once every month or two, take three or more off to achieve autophagy. For a quick background of where I'm coming from, I was into a lot of athletics when I was young as well as being in the IT world for over five decades now (let's just say that one of those two areas keeps you healthier than the other! LOL.). However, my PhD work was in the Neuroscience field and I'm always curious to learn more things, especially areas that seem to be overlooked. That said, I have a question for you that may sound ridiculous on the surface: Why do we eat? For this discussion I will ignore the social impacts of dining, interacting and the pure enjoyment of consuming certain foods. I am also excluding hydration needs except as they pertain to dietary fiber. What I am interested in are the biological requirements and benefits of consuming "food" daily. I will also lump all categories, like vitamins, into the word "supplements." Sure, in the past, people ate to extract the nutrients in food because it was the only method to obtain these nutrients. Now foods we eat have less than 20% of the nutrients that they used to due to over-farming and other causes. Food also has far more negative contents than it ever used to (pesticides, toxic chemicals pulled from the soil, intentional processing and modification, etc.). But we also now have supplements! I've researched many supplements for years and take quite a few regularly (ok, I take a lot!). Once, I had a friend state "Those shouldn't be replacing food!" At the time I pointed out that they were literally just "supplementing" my food intake, but this is where my question is coming from. Since the majority of what we consume ends up as waste in the sewer system after we've (hopefully) extracted as much of the nutrient content that we can, what are the other reasons we still need to eat actual food? We constantly read about how you should eat this or should not eat that with some of the same foods being mentioned on both lists! Intuitively, I'm sensing that replacing all food with just the "supplements" you need has its own issues (even ignoring how many should be "taken with food" which, I presume, means they require something else to kick off their digestion), but I'm also curious about some future approach where supplements provide the bulk of the nutrients with only some "medium" being required. Interestingly, even though I spend a lot on those supplements, basic food prices are skyrocketing, so finding a good balance is my current goal. Thanks for an excellent and informative channel! 🙂

The saddest thing about these videos is that majority won't listen to a long video like this to inspire them to better their lives. I watched the entire thing and I'm happy to learn the reasons why my health changed since going keto/paleo/low carb. The best thing is the knowledge given to reinforce our positive choice to be healthy and teach us so that we can inform others in life in conversation and referencing what we have learned from Dr Ekberg. I do laugh at some of Ekbergs comments though I laughed 3 times in this video I think his comments on bad food are unintentionally funny at times, bless him

Just a point of perspective. Before farming the total global human population fluctuated between 5 million to 50 million up until 10,000 years ago and the average life expectancy of these hunter gathers was 40. Then farming was invented and grains became 75% of the total diet and populations skyrocketed to hundreds of millions, and 8 billion today. Most people around the globe still eat a 50% to 75% grain diet. Also our life expectancy immediately jumped to over 60 with farming 10000 years ago. Today the global average is 75. Just some hard mathematical facts that can not be denied. If rice and bread are so bad then why is Eurasia, half of which eats bread every day while the other half eats rice every day, the most populated region on earth with the longest life spans? The shortest lifespans today are in the hunter gathers societies in Africa and South America , Java, that virtually eat no grain. The secret to good diet health is no secret. Moderation and lots of physical activity. Never eat to fill full. Keep un-natural aka processed ingredients to a minimum. I come from a peasant society. All my peasant relatives lived into their 90s. No running water no electricity until the 1990s and their main diet was bread 3 times a day, every day of their life. A shot of alcohol was taken every day of their life with every meal. And two or three at night. Pork or pork fat every day of their life. Dairy products every day of their life. Fruit and veggies, only when in season, or pickled over winter. Yet none of my great grand parents, great uncles/aunts died before age of 80. Not a single one out of several dozen. They ate in moderation and were constantly physically active from morning till night.

Well known but rarely discussed how Sugar conglomerates paid off several Harvard scientists doing high level research on cause of Heart Disease. Ultimately paid them off to change data to make it high fat was primary cause instead of sugar/excess carbs. And the whole food pyramid and later shapes were put into effect based on that faulty research and taught to several generations of us as gospel.

@@wt8213 thanks for sharing your condition. And me too!!! You describe yourself like you describe me. I don't touch soda either and never crave junk food out of habit and eat healthy and in moderation, also out of habit. When I was younger I also ate healthy but in really monstrous portion (for instance if I went for Chinese restaurant I can eat 5 big bowls of white rice plus the 5 main courses, and then sweet desserts afterwards. And before that, the dimsum selections 🤣), and I never seem to get fat. There's a horror tale from my home country about a ghost lady who ate at a street joint and asked about 50 bowls and keep asking for more. When the owner discovered that she is the dreaded hollow backed lady, meaning all the food she guzzled just poured down her hollowed back keeping her hungry. And this was my nickname during school years 🤣. I'm originally from Indonesia. If you googled the "sundel bolong" you'll know what I mean. A few years after I graduate college tho, I can't seem to eat like I used to. So it's not so bad a transition due to I always eat healthy. But now I feel great if I eat in smaller portions. If I eat big like previously, I get sick. Plus, I used to be greedy with milk and dairy products (I grew up in Aussie and the milk n dairy are so delicious), now milk makes me sick so I cut back completely. I can still eat cheese and yoghurt, but I can't do it like when I was younger I college days and before so just enjoy them sparingly. I always wonder what happened to cause the changes. I always thought I can eat like a monster forever 😅. It's fascinating how our bodies change with time.

Dr. Paul, Mason and Dr. Paul Saladino, both site studies that show that virtually all fish oil capsules and fish oil itself, due to its poly unsaturated oil's are almost immediately oxidized. I switched to ~90% carb diet and those issues went away and i did not even gain weight ( i have a moderately active lifestyle : mild-moderate exercise for 4 days a week) I truly wonder how european people can live on high protein diets without getting above mentioned issues. Maybe its because indian and european people are genetically different bcos of thousands of years of different dietary and climate patterns?
