You ladies are having conversations that ought to be had and I am here for it! As for Kate’s former friend group, I real like what your therapist said and would like to add that some friends project their own trauma because they haven’t faced them yet. Our intuition is there to protect us from harmful situations and we need to embrace it and lean into it more, question why the feeling is there and watch for clues. Perhaps we don’t feel comfortable contributing to a friend group because we don’t know how our contribution will be received or maybe the group is toxic😅. I think we’ve all been toxic at some point but when we know better we do better. Anyhoo, subscribed!

Yes you are so right. It’s hard to also contribute when you’ve been hurt before by opening up. Everything is a learning curve!! Welcome to the family.

I appreciate these discussions very much, how do you deal with a parent who keeps recenting you and evey phone call is always less than 2 minutes coz that parent doesn't believe in having discussions with you as their child? This has gone on for over 20 years and we just can't be found in a common space coz she will always talk me down. How long can one try to have a relationship with such kind of a mum?
