I finished this swap on my drift car in November. I'm not sure why but K&N RU-4960 was way too small to fit around my MAF. Mine came out of a 94 e34 525i (along with my engine) and I wound up using K&N RC-3250. My (janky) mount for the intake was just to put a zip tie around the MAF and through the mount for the M20 airbox. It's held up fine so far. I couldn't find that part number throttle cable and the forums seemed to indicate other ones would work. I got the throttle cable out of the same e34 that my engine came from and it's worked fine. I don't have the part number since it's buried in the engine bay. be careful buying ebay headers, I got a set that looked similar to Turner's old shorty swap headers but they wouldn't fit the engine block even after a ton of hammering. That was just money down the toilet.

Hey! Great video could you provide more information on the bracket to hold the maf/ intake

You don’t need any throttle cable. The m20 cable works just fine. And you haven’t covered anything with the exhaust system. “Just bring it to the exhaust shop” oh cmon dude. We trying to do all the work at home here.

Oh good to know. My understanding for exhaust is the m50/52 manifolds won’t line up with your existing e30 exhaust, but an exhaust shop can slightly alter the alignment for the flanges and get it connected up for you. So you can do 90% of the work.

I'm going through your videos on this subject and didn't see anything related to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I have a m52b28 swapped e30 that was done by the previous owner. I found out they didn't provision for a FPR. I'm installing one now. Wanted to know if you have one on your swap?
@slightlyMADcustoms5 жыл бұрын
We used the OEM setup from the M50 as the fuel pressure regulator mounts on the fuel rail so it is much more simple than the M52. The M52's FPR sits right after the fuel filter underneath the drivers footwell on the E36. So a couple options are to pull the FPR mount from a car with an M52 and adapt it or purchase an adjustable FPR from a company such as Aeromotive which would make it a much easier process. We definitely recommend having one!

Where did you put the iat since you took out the stock air box?
@slightlyMADcustoms4 жыл бұрын
It goes into the bottom of the intake manifold

questions, i am from california and i dont want to struggle passing emissions, does that mean I should use the exhaust for m5x meaning exhaust manifold and cats and then get a custom cat back exhaust fabricated?
@slightlyMADcustoms4 жыл бұрын
Yes as long as you use any sort of cat in your exhaust system the car should pass the smog test.

NISHKIGOI KEEPErS I found a couple really good diagrams on google. If you search “M52 X20 pinout” and go to images there’s some good ones. Hopefully that helps!

patrykkowalski6 If you’re looking at the RHD ITB kit, send him a message and tell him Lukas from SlightlyMADCustoms sent you. He’s usually good about giving a little deal. The sound and cool factor would definitely be worth the money
