I can't believe I am saying this, but I am on Team Jeffrey on this one. Scrambled eggs means eggs and milk, with a little butter in the pan so it doesn't stick. Simple, non seasoned, food to appreciate the pure taste it is. "Experiences you have in your mouth". Poor Katie, she is a foodie and definitely loves cheffing it up. So many of my local places have gone all foodie and I don't enjoy going out any more.

Katie, a road trip through rural Louisiana led me by the Tony Chachere plant. I bought some for myself when I got home because the locals offered that creole seasoning everywhere down there, even in the smallest coffeeshops next to the creamer and sugar. I knew it had to be good!

If you dont like the way they are prepared for you, make them yourself the way you like them. Theres more than one way to scramble an egg.

I'm coming to Katie's house for dinner! I love and appreciate presentation - you have to 'romance the ordinary'. My scrambled eggs; sauted mushrooms, onions, sweet peppers, eggs and cream cheese (makes them so fluffy). Timex ad (takes a licken..) was always played during the Olympics or Figure Skating specials - they would strap the watch on the blades of the skates and skate around - then show you that it was 'ticking'.

In regards to the changes in the restaurant industry, it is attributed to how they handle food orders during the pandemic. Most restaurant chains have been more contact-less in terms of ordering and serving food. There are many places that will not accept cash for payments for that reason. Love the slogan game. I got most of them correct because I am a senior member of the congregation. Here's hoping that the next part of your life's journey, Jeffrey, is filled with fun and adventure.

What a great podcast. Re: southern and LA cooking. Try Zatarain's in lieu of Tony's. It's made in NOLA. Bacon grease makes the most flavorful roux. For real southern green beans add onion, bacon, and bacon grease. I once was so proud to wear my new pearlized lavender leather blazer to church on Christmas until another attendee told me the price tag was under the sleeve. Groan. The slogan game is generational. The reason mc d's and Starbucks don't want people to sit in no more is because people who work from home was going in and buying a drink but sitting for hours on their laptops working, and plugging in using the electric, our local Starbucks is always full of students working and you can't sit because they take up too much room, laptop, phone, work books etc and they are all plugged into the electric sockets, I've even seen it in hospital emergency rooms, people waiting for treatment but are on there phones and are looking for plug in sockets

I'm with you Jeffrey, like my eggs dry, meat well done, and fish cooked. My favorite way to eat eggs is to take a hot dog, chop it up brown it in a skillet then add well beaten eggs, scramble well and melt cheese on top. My dad used to make that on Sundays after church for us.

Katie and Jeffrey, Your dining experience for Jeffrey's birthday sounded just like where I used to work. We literally would bend over backwards for our guests, but that's a whole different story. We also personalized menus and dishes. Additionally, back in the smoking days, we would personalize matchbooks for our guests. I miss the days of very fine dining $$$. It was a more civilized and personalized era.

Happy birthday Jeffrey ! I like my scrambled eggs cooked too but I do like to put a little bit of butter in the pan. And sometimes I’ll put a dash of cream but I do cook them all the way they’re not undercooked. And I only use salt on my eggs in just a little I don’t want them seasoned too much either! I think it’s erased and most of us were raised without seasoning on our eggs ! I have to say though my favorite eggs are over medium on sourdough toast after I’ve buttered the toast! I like that yolk on my bread! So I have to agree with that with Katie!

Happy Birthday, Jeffrey ‼️🎁🎈🥳 Have you ever tried egg in a hole? Piece of bread with hole cut out, put in pan with a little butter, crack an egg into the hole. After first side is slightly browned flip the egg and bread over to further cook the egg. My favorite way to eat eggs. Caviar can be eaten on toast points with a little sour cream. And Katie, I'm with you on the meat; my steak needs to be medium rare.I always end up listening to you late at night and get hungry.

I gave them drawn butter for their crab with little individual heating elements for the butter, they had baby cheesecakes for their birthdays!
