First, I want to apologise for the audio quality not being up to our usual standard. There's currently a big change happening as we’re moving into a new studio, which isn’t ready just yet.
For this episode, we had to use a last-minute pop-up setup to make it happen.
A huge shoutout to Podcast Hub for organising this so quickly and ensuring we could still record.
Another big thank you to Wahid Sekkar, my incredible editor, for his hard work and support in pulling this episode together despite the challenges.
Now, let’s dive into today’s episode with the wonderful Mariah Aziz, a relationship and trauma healing coach from the UK. While she was visiting Dubai for a month, Mariah made time to join me for this beautiful and insightful conversation.
We delve into her early years, exploring her relationship with her parents and how that shaped her views on love and relationships. Mariah also shares her thoughts on the societal pressure to pursue traditional careers like becoming a doctor, lawyer, or engineer to achieve financial stability and success.
She opens up about how these expectations influenced her drive to be a hardworking overachiever in order to feel loved and validated.
Mariah talks about the safety and security of a corporate 9-5 career, which can often feel like the “safe” option, especially financially.
However, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she began to realize that her banking job was no longer fulfilling her.
Struggling to keep up, she embarked on a transformative healing journey through therapy and deep self-reflection.
This journey led her to uncover her true passion for coaching, something she had unconsciously been doing with those around her for years.
Taking a leap of faith, Mariah left her corporate career to pursue her dream of helping others through coaching. She shares how following her heart and passion brought her not only happiness but also financial success.
This inspiring conversation left me in awe of Mariah’s courage and determination, and I’m so grateful to have shared this experience with her. We discovered we have so much in common, and we’re already planning a part two!
I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did-Mariah truly is an inspiration.
