EP 57 69 Dart Swinger 340 Runs for the first time in 20 years with MSD and lots of love.

In this episode, I get the Dart to fire up! We installed the Mopar electronic ignition and quickly found it to be junk, so I went ahead with the MSD. Relatively straight forward install. I also did a few other things in the engine compartment as well.
I say first start in 20 years. That is partly false. We did get it to start with the Mopar ignition, but it did not run well. I triple checked all of my wiring, My Dad who is a life long Mechanic also checked the wiring and we found that the system was bad.
I installed new more modern style headlights, but wanted the vintage look. I found Hella H4 lamps look great and are a super easy install.

I use dielectric grease on the plug wires that's what your supposed to use it keeps the moisture out and helps slide on easier. Plug wires use to come with a small thing of dielectric grease but anyway that's the proper thing to use on wires and all the ignition

I put dielectric grease in the boots before installing. The WD is just to get the boots on the wires.

I strongly recommend using the Putco headlight harness with relays. It is plug and play no hacking of wires. The higher output of the Hella's can burn out the headlight and dimmer switch. The harness with relays takes the brunt of the load away from the car's switches. PM me with any questions as I had done many mopars with this harness. Hope this helps. Hope this helps

could you try some evaporust,spray it onto everything in the engine bay thats rusty. then rinse of with water the oxidise layer will stop future rust and remove the staining

That factory carb is not a Carter AFB. Its a Carter AVS which stands for air valve secondary
