For Episode #6, Dr. Gerald Horne and I revisit an early book of his entitled, Black Liberation/Red Scare: Ben Davis & the Communist Party first published in 1994. Ben Davis was the first Black Communist elected to political office in the United State of America. As a communist leader in Harlem in the 1930s through the early 1960s, Davis built a broad anti-capitalist movement against the horrors of Jim Crow and white supremacy. In this interview, Dr. Horne expands on his early research on Davis and the Communist Party and offers a fresh analysis on our current geopolitical situation including the rise of fascism and and the new red scare.
