I hope I get the same weather next June 2023 as I will be riding to Dunnet Head then to Ardnamurchan Point from Lanark ( south of Glasgow ) via Perth Braemar and Grantown on Spey on my Rebel 1100, I have watched your footage and it enforces my decision to do the route but unlike you I do not film and take few pictures I study the maps of the areas I travel through so I know if I go wrong I can get back on course 6 months of planning and packing for a weeks tour. If I do my tour in one hit it would be nearly 2500 miles starting near Reading to Lowestoft Ness, Dunnet Head, Ardnamurchan Point and back down to Lizard Point the four extreme points of mainland UK.

Having ridden Applecross and the A93/939 in both directions like yourself, you can keep the former, I don't think it's a patch on the Cairngorms. Well big man once again thank you for episode 6 really enjoyed it.Home from our European trip on the 16th last and it was fantastic 3200 miles in 14 days on the road. Bavaria, Austria and Northern Italy absolutely stunning.Biker heaven. Homeward bound from the French Riviera to Cherbourg was fantastic but the toll roads are a killer, really get the arm into you.Anyway sorry we are not as high tech as your good self so no videos to share. Next year's ride is already in the planning and it's the wild Atlantic way here in Ireland.Needless to say Scotland is now firmly on the bucket list. Cheers mate really enjoyed your Scottish Odyssey. Great job again Steve! Can’t quite swallow that it’s the last episode of the tour. Enjoyed every second of that. Great selection of music for the ending. Hey! What’s that red glare that comes across the screen all the time. I was thinking it was your jacket but I see the jacket is black and white. Is it some reflection off the bike? I’ll have to watch them over again this winter again. Our winters here are cold, dark and long here in MT. See yah next ride!!!

For a future trip a possible change on the route would be to take a left turn to Ballatar instead of right to Braemar. At Ballater cross the Dee and take the B976 along Souith Deeside to Whitestone or Strachan then turn south to the B974 to Cairn O' Mount. Good stops are either at the Cairn at the top or the viewpoint a short distance past it. Some really beautiful views there and a great biking road to get there. At the bottom there is the Clatterin Brig restuarant for a break before heading to Fettercairn then Edzell then back onto the A90 to head south. I like to ride this route as part of a days run from Dundee to Braemar then east along south Deeside before crossing the Cairn O' Mount on the way home.

12:10 - they're building a new bridge there now Steve, to replace the the old humpback one. Looks like it'll be a modern, flat & wide one. Steve (and the team) we have thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Haven’t commented on each video (just one other) but it has been a pleasure to watch. We felt your disappointment and that was definitely in your voice at the start of the video (not a criticism) and we understand that, but by 1m 20s the ride and scenery took that away. You rose (or rode 😁) above it Steve. That journey up the mountain at 5m 20s was just beautiful. Looking forward to seeing what you and the guys get up to later this year. ATB. Cracking video as usual Steve. Caravan site electrics work on a lower amperage of 10amps compared to household amps of 13i think that's why battery took so long to charge !!! Haste you back to our bonny country next year !!!
@Steve-Clark2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that Tam at last someone has thrown some light on the reason the batteries took so long to charge cheers.
@JimGDMAC Жыл бұрын
The maximum 10A current in caravans is only the current when the circuit breaker cuts and has no effect on the charger. The usual USB charger for cameras only takes a very low current from the supply so isn't affected by the max 10A supply, only things like electric heaters or kettles can be affected as they could trip the breaker. I can't see how the caravan supply is likely to affect the charging time as this is determined by the charger's output not the input unless the mains voltage has dropped way below the 230V it should be, this would however affect every other electrical appliance in the caravan. Similarly if the camera is showing that it is fully charged then the run time should not be lower than normal.

Love it. A group of us did the NC500 in May, starting from Nottingham. We went via Northumberland, stopping at Moffat, and then did the same road through the Cairngorms as you, but the other way. Loved it to bits.

I don't know if anyone else does this but I tick the like button every time before I start watching the video. They are so well put together with road numbers, place names and even some history thrown in from time to time. The laid back approach to great mates having a great holiday together is sadly lacking in some other travelers videos. As I have said before I love Scotland and riding there or watching others ride there is good for the soul. Thanks for all of the hard work that goes into these very enjoyable travels. Ride safe mate, cheers for now Mike.

Thank you so much for such positive feedback Mike its really appreciated. We are just a gang of lads that just enjoy riding our bikes and when back I really enjoy editing it to remind us of what we got up to. Thanks again my friend and ride safe.

Great video Steve, thank you for posting. I remember as a youngster the road from Glenshee prior to the upgrade used to pass what was called the Devils Elbow, quite exciting as a young boy.
