I liked the feel of this episode. a helpless situation vs an ace sniper with the mobility of an exoframe. it kinda gave me "predator" vibes. loved the dual wielded 50cal moment. i wonder what that sniper rifle shoots? 20mm, 30mm? i understand how exoframes can be revolutionary for warfare. their mobility over almost any difficult terrain is unparalleled. able to cross rivers and the most unpassable terrain for any normal AFV. their height also makes them very good at taking cover where most vehicles couldn't.
@simo21-k1q4 жыл бұрын
The sniper rifle used this time seems to be based on the Vidhwansak Anti Material Rifle made in India. This rifle uses 12.7 x 108mm ammunition and has higher penetration and power than 50Cal. I like this story best too!
@jaromswenson75414 жыл бұрын
@@simo21-k1q thanks man. There was an American sniper in Vietnam that used a browning 50cal with scope as a longer ranged sniper rifle. I guess when you dont need much penetration against exoframes you just need more power to increase range. So I guess he doesnt need a 20mm or 30mm.

I was wondering why they weren't using the wheels mounted on the Exo's knees as often when they were taking sniper fire though. Wouldn't that give them a better chance against the sniper if they were faster? (Not like it would have mattered anyways, though.)
@jaromswenson75414 жыл бұрын
@@j.b.victor the way I see it is that the wheels are situational and probably harder to pilot. Exoframes move based on how we think of moving, but since we dont have wheels built into our legs, it would take more mental effort to use them. Also if you plan to use stairs or even cross any difficult terrain you would have to awkwardly transition from a double kneeling position to walking.

This episode felt like a Horror story because they didn't know where the Sniper is due to the fog and got picked up one bye one until the the last one finally sees the enemy before dying.
@Hust912 жыл бұрын
The question of course being how the sniper knew where they were that wasn't available to the group of dying soldiers. Or why they themselves didn't have any snipers or other long-range engagement options in a long-range combat environment. Or why they thought spraying machine gun fire wildly into the air when they knew the target was ~1 kilometers away would be a viable strategy (4 seconds between shot and sound, sound moves ~340 meters per second, varies based on speed of bullet). Or why they didn't engage in evasive movement as the enemy had significant bullet lead at that distance and depending on the speed of the bullet may be almost entirely unable to hit anything that isn't standing still or moving in a straight line at a consistent rate. Overall they seem undertrained and underequipped for the job they were sent to do. Which isn't necessarily unrealistic as military leadership can be dumbasses (see Russia right now), but it's not like these tactics would have been anywhere near as effective against a troop that knew or could figure out how to mitigate sniper fire and was equipped with guns and equipment suitable for the environment they were sent to fight in.

Those alien sounds the exo's make while moving around probably can't be heard from inside the canopy of another Exoframe. (in episode 1 they have been shown stealthily eliminating enemies whit the torch without being discovered by other exo's.) But maybe when you are a foot soldier locating a moving exo at close range is a lot easier. Or another theory I have is that some expert pilots can move their exo's carefully enough to not cause any sound. (The exo is controlled by neuro-link, such precision and control seems to be in the realm of possible, plus, the sniper has been shown being able to pilot his exo while not being on the saddle in a previous episode, so maybe he is special in a way.) Either that, or the Exoframes aren't as loud as the show makes us think xD
@aaronluisdelacruz42124 жыл бұрын
It was said durt the previous chapters, the exos are piloted using something similar to telepathy alongside the transforming mechanism shown in the previous episodes. In the hallucinating part, remember the human mind is fragile. Stress can make a person suffer from amnesia even without physical damage or became blind or mute add the (possibly) mental strain done to the pilot and you would have a hallucination. To support that, the person that died before him ended up with a mental breakdown which is odd for someone still serving in the frontline.

Did the sniper just have way better spotting technology or left some kind of sensors at the first decoy site? Why did the troops not have any snipers or other long-range engagement options in a long-range combat environment? Or why did they think it was a viable idea to spray machine gun fire wildly into the air when they knew the target was ~1 kilometers away (4 seconds between shot and sound, sound moves ~340 meters per second, varies based on speed of bullet)? 1: Probably thermal optics or something similar 2: Snipers and marksman are generally deployed either separate from main forces or supported by infantry. Given the Charuincho’s sheer skill (not even a single missed or non-kill shot), chances are anyone trying to countersnipe would be dead before they could even see them 3: The M2 Browning’s maximum range is 2 kilometers with its effective range at 1.83 kilometers so it isn’t too far fetched for them to do at. Chances are it was less to kill and more just to keep them from firing 4: Likely panic and being undertrained, plus even if they did evasive maneuvers the troops have to stop moving eventually
