I am so happy you put your handprints and added your fur babies paw prints. I bought my first home in 1973. I paid $21,200. We had to put $200 down and borrow that. LOL I lived there until 1993. We had a huge deck added in about 1988. We had our son and daughter put their names and hand prints in the concrete. I stopped at the house for a garage sale. The owner asked me if the handprints were from us. I had totally forgotten about that. My son was 5 and my daughter was 17. Now they are 52 and 40.

In North America, 100-200 years ago it was common for people to dispose of trash including broken pottery and dish ware in the privy (outhouse). I watch British show “Time Team” and they do archeological digs and find artifacts from Britains past. So I’m with Sabrina these finds are cool and historically interesting. Maybe make mosaic stepping stone or tabletop for the garden to display your finds. ❤ The house is transforming nicely.

I mean how many people actually have a ramp into their home unless it’s needed by someone who lives there? Why would people expect y’all to have that? I’m sorry…that’s just weird! It’s awesome you have one, but some people just want to complain about something!!

THANK YOU for commenting this!! I found it ridiculous and funny people actually felt like there was a need to worry about a ramp for this project smh lol. A house is made for the people that have to live in it. NOT for the "maybe's" that may never happen.

This reminds me of a house that was in the Battle of Manassas in Virginia, USA. After the battle the farmer wend around and found anything left from the battles and used them to fix his house. There is literally a cannon ball mortared into the side of the house. Maybe this is something you could do 😂

In a previous house we discovered that the previous owner bought the wrong direction sliding door. Their solution was to install the door backwards and lightly try to flash it on the exterior. Another house had the slider installed upside down.

Re: sliding door … when we replaced our old slider in our kitchen, we too receive one that opened the wrong way. (It was opening the same way as the one we were replacing). Since our kitchen is small changing the way the door opened was imperative. The contractor rechecked his order and sure enough the supplier was incorrect. It was a custom size door so the supplier had to take the hit. Our contractor mentioned he saw the door at the supplier on the greatly reduced rack. Too bad because didn’t have another spot for the second door. All this is to say, really think about the way the door opens, how much furniture you will need to walk around to get to your kitchen, etc. If the supplier messed up and you have backup verification, you may want to insist that you get the correct opening door. A pain for sure but It may be a little thing now but even a tiny pebble in your shoe becomes a big thing after a while. 😀 Really enjoying your series!
