Adam Savage gave a great piece of advice on meeting people when I inteviewed him and on his live streams. He talked about how exhausting it used to be after cons, meeting so many people that want something, if only an experience from you. He said that at one point he stopped fighting against it, just embraced it, and then it became a source of energy for him. He also mentioned that he has been given an awesome gift, the ability to make someones day, just by being nice. I have really embraced this when I am recognized in public, just been my nice, authentic, Canadian self :) I think you should do the same.

I've been near-sighted since high school and wear contacts. When I hit 45, I could no longer see up close while wearing them. My eye doc said I needed readers and I refused to believe that was possible. Now I wear readers often, but if I wear them too long, I at all when I take them off! Love the new show! Break a leg!

Born in 1978 live mostly outside in the summer,Fall, and sometimes in winter grew up in Northeast and little bit in Southern Central Florida area in mid 1980’s from 1985-1989. Lived rest of my life in Western Massachusetts. Dadbod Vet also wanna say thank you Sir your service in US Navy. I am son of Veteran as well and some my family served in Military. Here’s why we became “Helicopter Parents”: Adam Walsh and the media feeding frenzy following his abduction and horrific murder. From that day forward every single news segment included the disappearance of yet another child. Daily we were witnessing the horror and anguish of the parents in our living rooms and we were left with a feeling of hopelessness and desperation. It literally changed the way we raised our children. Kids went from carefree days playing outside with their friends to being shuffled to the local police department to have their fingerprints taken. I believe it was the most pivotal time in our nation. No other single event, in my memory, had such a sudden and profound impact on our families as the disappearance of Adam Walsh and his father John Walsh’s crusade to find his son. The Cold War also had an impact on us. Every day we were reminded, by the MSM and Hollywood, that our lives would inevitably be ripped apart by nuclear war and we were powerless to stop it. I remember standing over my children as they slept, my heart in my throat as I grappled with the fear of worrying about what would happen to my precious babies if a nuclear blast killed their father and I and they were left alive and alone. I know I wasn’t alone in dealing with this fear. The whole world was under the oppressive cloud of helplessness. It was suffocating. We took control of our children and we let fear be our guide.

👍 cool podcast. So, now that I have gotten home from work and been able to sit in my easy chair and watch the whole podcast, it is very entertaining. I look forward to future podcasts, with you and your sister. Being firmly in the middle of the Gen X group, with children ranging from 29 down to 17, I've dealt with the millennials and the following generation. As well as this newest feral generation, with my granddaughters that are 6 & 4. With all that said, I can relate on so many of your videos. For your future podcasts, I'd like to hear you and your sister discuss the impacts that you saw growing up, like the end of the cold war, the challenger disaster, and other world events from our youth that are now in history books for these younger generations, and if the historians are getting it right or not. Look forward to seeing more from both of you.

As a 66 Gen x dude. You've nailed our/my vibe. Mornings getting ready for skool😂 we used to play on the Magnavox console The Cars on repeat, or Frampton comes alive (do you feel like i do?) Go to school and then be tasked with chores and dinner before parents arrived. Ahhhh. The good old days. Then, when we were done, we could go down to the park and try to sling of anyone we didn't like off of the carousel with the useless handles ( because inertia is a bitch) and our only rule was whenever the streetlights came on we had to go home. Kinda sucks at didn't matter until 7:00 pm. 💯

I have to agree with one of your commenter, hearing your normal voice almost seems criminal! LOLOL! Love your vids, I’m one of those poor souls who is a mix of baby boomer and gen X, being born in 1963 to my 15 year old mother who was an actual baby boomer, I was raised “feral” like all gen Xers.we are the FA&FO crew. We aren’t afraid to use our hands! I watch your vids everyday and very much enjoy them. My daughter is millennial but my son is gen z, my lovely wife convinced me to have our son rather late in my life ( she is 10 years younger than me) It amazes me how different the 2 are! As a disabled vet my son NEVER forgets my birthday or Father’s Day, my daughter has to be “ reminded “ on both! My son values my opinion, my daughter thinks I’m too old to “ get it “ I love them both with all my heart can give. My wife wanted one of each, boy and girl but what a difference! Of course I can’t seem to get either to read an actual book and my son thinks I don’t know what a computer is! LOLOL, but both when I was raising them ( still am for my son, he’s 17 now ) Know that ole Dad isn’t afraid to swat that ole Fanny when they misbehaved. Unfortunately my grand daughter is a holy terror because telling a 2 year old whose blatantly misbehaving to stop just isn’t working. She hasn’t figured out that you don’t actually need to use the rod to get her to behave! She’s amazed that all pop pop has to do is tell her I’m gonna put a foot to her ass and that it, miraculously it works. For millennials it seems like magic! What actually happens is I will make one of her favorite toy “ disappear “ until she behaves. You are absolutely correct in that without a internet enabled cell or computer they magically lose all ability to function. If you really want to have some fun, cut all wi-fi, get a rotary phone and hide their” contact list “ a black and white tv with only 3 channels plus the channel with Sesame Street. They will absolutely just lose their minds! And when they inevitably complain, toss them a Lord of the Rings BOOK! The reaction is going to be epic! 😂😂😂😂😂😂

As an Aussie, Dad of 8 ..... I have a theory on Gen Alpha. :-) They are smarter than their millennial parents and hold a perspective not unlike Gen X'ers and with this view they see their parents (Good or not so good) for their flaws and peculiarities while viewing older Gen X members of their extended families as a better or more fun example in life and this view leads them to follow in a more Gen X manner and hold more conservative and libertarian views. I feel that by setting an awesome example Gen X has exacted the revenge on their kids through their GrandKids :-) That said? My teen daugher is a Boomer......... Man its rough with the last kid.

Excellent job guys. I learned of the podcast from Facebook just this evening. From what I remember pre-internet was the "BULLETIN BOARD" where you could log onto for posting/responding to messages/posts. Some had games. Being that you guys are from Ohio, I was curious as to why you picked Charleston to settle in. I am from there. Born on the naval base when the hospital was actually on the base in 62. Lived in Summerville for years after dad retired mid 70's. Again, great show and eagerly waiting for the next. Also thanks to Mrs D.B.V. & Mr B.J.

Years ago, Keanu's band, "Dogstar," played at the Whisky-a-Go Go. As he made his way through the crowd, I was making my way through the crowd, and when I got close, I turned to, let's be honest, press my boobs against him. It was great. My heart did flip-flops. He wasn't married at the time. I'd been crushing on him since I was 16, and I was about 22 at the time, so I'd been fostering that fanaticism for awhile. But that was it. It seems pretty respectful, viewing it through today's lens.

I enjoyed your podcast, be good to hear your second one. When I 1st saw your videos before hearing your natural voice I thought u were Irish. Which is cool. It’s good your American. Your sister seems nice to. I’m so glad I’m a Gen X.
