Ep18 IT SANK! Nearly wiped out by a sinking boat in Lewes!

Unfortunately the only footage I have of the incident is a 10 second clip from a distance. It was definitely squeaky bum time!

Great footage up the Ouse to Lewes. You didn't quite get to the Harveys brewery - just above the bridge - but it's a famous area for tricky tides. The good people of Lewes would have been over-excited seeing the spinning vessel and you heading upstream. Why? because absolutely nothing happens in Lewes until November 5th (when they basically try to blow the place up!) Carry on you rogue adventurer you. Crocs or no crocs....

Nice to see you out there. My last dinghy popping is why i got a fiberglass dinghy this time around. The last time the seals on the dinghy went and i had to hold the backboard with the motor on it together while i got back to the boat. The new dinghy is heavy AF and i need to use the winch and a halyard to get it on and off the boat, but i dont have to worry about any spiky bits!

Hope you know this, but just in case ;) Make sure you check your sailboats engine before, during and after using it, write down in the log the miles/hours traveled, fuel use, oil use, and a remark if any. This way you learn to know the engine, and observing the log you can see if fuel use of oil use have gone up and act accordingly. This seems a bit too much, because you use the engine a lot for easy travel, but in fact when things go south, the first thing you do to regain control is to start the engine, so it needs to work.
