If you translate ‘hey, how are you?’ into German it’s actually something like ‘hey, wie geht’s?’ or ‘hey, wie geht es dir?’. But ‘na’ is general slang that you can always use if you want start a conversation

He said "Zimmerlautstärke" in German which would directly translate to "room volume", not moderate volume (although it makes sense the subs say moderate, because the direct translation doesn't exist in English) and that's sort of defined as your neighbors won't hear it or at the most only very quietly. So not an exact definition and more of a concept but not as abstract as "moderate" makes it sound

It's funny you mentioned the "na". It's not even a word you can find in the dictionary. Just a slang word that can mean so many things based on its context 😅 Depending on the tone it can be positive and negative, just saying na. And adding another word can change even more, e.g.: Na, du - hey there! Na gut - fine Na ja - oh well Na toll - great (sarcastic) Na und? - so what? Na klar - of course! Na na na - now, now And so many more~

abi prank committee is basically just "group that organize the senior prank". "Komitee" in German isn't necessarily as formal as "committee" in English. "Abi" (short for Abitur) is basically graduating from German high school (well one of the types of high schools but that's not important) so you "get your Abi(tur)" and take the "Abiprüfungen" (abi exams). So anything that says "abi"-something is the German version of the American "senior"-something. E.g. Abiball = senior prom

honestly... DRUCK season 3 and DRUCK season 5 are my absolute favorites out of all Skam seasons. I think season 5 picks up really well and adepts the kind of topics that they didn’t tackle in this season 3 due to going a different (but still awesome and important) route. (and I am not saying that just cause I'm german.)

- damn its been so long since i saw druck this is bringing back memories! like the after the party clip, with matteo's paint splattered shirt, i remember it aired right after lucas and elliott made up and hooked up in the paint, so the meme was like they sent paint across the universe to matteo for the start of his journey - there was a serious time where people thought jonas might be the love interest before david was introduced, it was war on tumblr between jonas and beanie boy believers (because yeah we saw david in the final episode of season 2 in the hanna and jonas clip) lmao what a time - damn, i love season 3 of druck, it's such a unique different vibe from every other one, i love it so much, matteo is my child. and yeah you're right, if you pay attention, you'll see both matteo and david share both isak and even traits, it's done in actions and stying, like it's on purpose, i'm curious to see what you'll pick up on. like just this first episode, matteo is the one offering david to smoke, he's the one with the girlfriend, etc.

I personally love season three of Skam France, but I think Druck made a really good job in changing the story of Matteo and David, so it just fit perfectly for them. I also like the chemistry between the two and their relationship feels very natural. I‘m very happy that we have a german remake, which is so good.

Matteo is the Isak we needed - our sweet sloth - he's the Isak we saw brief glimpses of in the OG. Druck took that one piece of sad, lonely OG Isak and said, "lets go all in". David is a perfect reflection of OG Even - emotionally - the moment that Even saw Isak losing his shit in the courtyard (OG scene from script/not filmed) he said "that guy, right there, I see him" - and David sees Matteo and immediately there is a connection. So, it's that connection that runs through both OG and Druck. You will see - the softness, playfulness, understanding of one another of OG - well, it is totally emphasized/and fully realized in Matteo and Davids interactions - they clearly LOVE one another, no question about that. They are such a good EVAK!! Would enjoy a reaction highlight video!!

Just a small tip from a German person to pronounce „Druck“ more correctly😉: the „u“ is pronounced like the „oo“ in school and the „ck“ is more sharp or harsh like the „c“ and „k“ in „cake“ If you don’t read/ follow this, it’s totally fine and I don’t mind if a title isn’t pronounced 100 percent correctly but I just wanted to let you know🤗

I’m just now discovering your channel and want to go back to look at what you had to say about Skam OG, but I will say that of the four remakes I have looked at so far for season 3 (even though one of them is actually a season 2), Druck is far away the best in my opinion. It at the same time captures the feel of the OG more than any other while being more different than any other in a very interesting way.

Na is sort of hard to explain, it doesn't actually fully mean "How's it going", that'd be "Wie gehts?" but there's not proper way of translating "na" to English. It's sort of like... an exclamation and can be used as a greeting and also sort of to say "How's it going" but you're not actually asking how's it going (like if someone said "na" they would ususally respond "na" back or "hi" or something like that, nobody would respond "I'm fine", that's more if you actually said "Wie gehts" but I agree that How's it going is probably the best translation)

Although Druck season 3 is quite cute, authentic and bittersweet, I'm strugling with finishing it. It just seems a bit too anxious and depressing, especially after the sunny gay season of Skam Italia which is my favorite after the original (woudn't mind watching your reaction to the Italian version, by the way).
