EP22: First Overnight at the Cabin Build & Wall Install

In this video, I fill the walls on each side of the cabin doorway in phase one of the cabin build.
The cabin is being built out of White Pine and Tamarack.

Good eye, yeah when the snow turned to rain I switched the cover from flat to pitched. I had hiked out a few times during the winter to check on the cabin but didn't bring a camera. Yes, Fatherhood keeps me busy but I'm enjoying every bit of it.

Hey friend. At 12'00 I saw your thumb very close to the blade of your hooknife and told myself "hmm... that's a no-go for me", the next thing I see in the morning you wake up, take off your right hand glove, Oh did I smile when I saw this bandage on your thumb and how you would pull gently on the knife minding your thumb. There is a nightstory hidden in this detail, I'm sure. That's part of why I always push in front of me and never pull the hooknife, too sharp to mess with :D I'm clicking on the #23 right away, cheers.

Thank you. I don't think the cabin will ever be our full time home. At least not until it gets a bathroom:) We currently live in another cabin which is only 900 sqft and that's about as small as we can comfortably live.

One question (apologies if I missed the answer somewhere along the way): Are there plans to insulate the floor? Seems like it will not provide much insulation in its current state. Or, will you worry about it when you move it to it's permanent foundation? Subscribed!

You have been paying close attention. Thank you. I'm calling this a sub floor for now. Eventually I'll lay some thin padding for insulation and new flooring over top or maybe even insulate from underneath. Maybe both. Not sure yet. Nothing until I move it though.
