borax have better uses than to tan hides. you're better off looking for lime, and crushing the rocks with the hammer in the craft menu. then you fill a barrel, and use a 1:1 ratio. each skin will take 2 litres of limewater (+2 for each size, with 8L needed for a huge skin).

You won't locate bees in winter, as they are not active when it's cold.

Animals can despawn in darkness so keep that in mind for your barns. I recommend exploring the chisel options for your coal retaining wall. You can make something really good looking for it.

as long as the animals get some daylight everyday ( like through fence walls ) they won't despawn. Its only if you full enclose them, blocking all light , they have a chance to despawn.

Oh and for temporal storms. U can also make a death pit. U stand in the middle and wait for monsters to walk in. Ur safe up high then wait to kill them all.

You can have a charcoal pit 11 x 11. 11 blocks wide, 11 tall

you can do 3x3 squares for the farm (one water block in the middle and 8 soil around the edge). your design will work fine but this is more efficient use of space

Ah, thank you. I wasn't sure about the corners.

Most time need to travel 1000 or more blocks. Or at least I have to every game to find bees!!

No thats RNG based, unless you are starting in colder climates. Bees will be in temperate to tropical, the warmer the easier to find, but usually are closer than people think. Sometimes RNG is just bad though.
