Well, they all believed that Joshua killed the King of Ai and buried him beneath a pile of stones under the city gates...until the stones were dug up and it was found no King was buried there. So that's blown you out of the water at the first shot, matey! Canaan was not destroyed by the Israelites (find me a single Israelite gallery in any museum in the world?) but the Sea People's (the great tribes coming down from the North) and that Jericho would have already been a deserted ruin if Joshua had ever got there (but he didn't because excavation - especially by Dame Kathleen Kenyon - have disproved the Biblical myths).

One name verification does not mean the story is true! But like if I made an accusation that a bloke named Joe stole my bike. The police find a random bloke named Joe, so HE must have stolen the bike! In the Cairo Museum there is a stela which records a campaign Pharaoh Merneptah fought in Canaan. It names the fortress cities he conquered then mentions a Bedouin tribe who he calls "Israel." Christians got all hysterical at this first mention of the Israelites in archaeological history, no doubt with visions of the heroic child murderer Joshua proudly leading from the front. (The Bible says the Exodus consisted of two million + people so if they marched ten abreast the line would have stretched for 150 miles! Absurd!) However, the shock in the Stela was that it recorded that Merneptah called them a "people" not a fortress city. i.e. they had conquered no cities whatsoever as the Bible states. It also says the Egyptian army gave them such a beating that they were described as virtually "no more." And in the Temple of Karnak in the upper Nile you can see pictures of the Egyptian army on the Temple walls crushing the same Israelite tribe.

The reason the Exodus was placed in the 13th century BC was because the scholars have thought that the Bible indicates that the Pharaoh at the time of the exodus was Ramses II. Tho the Pharaoh is never named, many believes it was Ramses because the Bible states that the Hebrew were tasked with building the store cities of Pithom and Rameses. So they place the date based on an assumption of the pharaoh they believe was the one in the story rather than evidence of when it actually happened.

That was a beautiful way to describe and compile these evidences and align them with the text chronologically. The description of why archaeology is ignoring the evidence from looking in the wrong places is noteworthy and their year for expecting to find is off. The one thing I had issue with is the human bones, horse bones, hubs, hardware, wheels and gold found in the red sea and marked by Solomon with pillars and incription surviving on one. Ron Wyatt didn't claim to have gone to your school, but he sure did find the mother lode, searching for gold, his equipment took him to the finds of multiple types on the red sea floor. The famous pic of the chariot wheels is a match to an eighteenth dynasty chariot wheels according to Wyatt's people and their videos. His other sites that are related along the walk are also impressive. Watch all the types of videos his wife made while he struggled to do his work. He was a prayerful God fearing man, and I think you dismiss his finds because he is not an archaeologist recognized by your colleges. He was God's archaeologist and he found things the so called experts couldn't find up each other's behind.

I really don't like the way they so easily dismissed the 'supposed' or as they called it 'mythical' finds purported of the Red Sea crossing by some. There has been many finds in the area of the Gulf of Aqaba and especially in Saudi Arabia. Why hasn't any archaeological team gone there to investigate at Neweiba beach area? There is an ancient column there still standing on Neweiba beachhead and in that specific area of the sea there is a shallow underwater bridge where the supposed artifacts were found. Curiously another pillar or column was found on the Saudi side of the sea with supposed ancient (Hebrew writings)? We can't investigate that or other things found on the Saudi Arabia side because the Saudi authorities removed that pillar and will not allow any western archaeologists into the area. The supposed gold chariot wheel found does look exactly like a type of chariot wheel used by the Egyptians. It is a four spoke design and has been seen on several Egyptian reliefs and paintings, so Titus is mistaken on that. There are quite a few videos on YT with video and photographic evidence of the finds by several groups of people over the last several decades. It would be prudent to atleast send an investigation team of true archaeologists to check it out, no?

Dr. Steven Meyer starts off reasonably correctly, about 3 minutes into the video: "We have strong extra-Biblical evidence for the presence of Israelites as slaves in Egypt prior to the date that the Bible allows you to calculate for the Exodus." This means that we need extra-Biblical evidence to verify the Bible, and it means that the evidence doesn't show that all Israelites, or even a sizable population of Israelites, were in Egypt at that time; just "some" Israelites. This correctly leaves up in the air that there probably were Israelites enslaved by the Hittites and the Mesopotamian nations as well. And Egyptians by the Hittites, and Hittites by the Egyptians, and vice versa etc... Leaving these things unsaid gives its own spin on the information given. Leaving them unsaid on purpose may be manipulative and disingenuous, as Dr. Meyer promptly demonstrates not a minute and a half later (4:37) by saying that "So we know *they* were slaves in Egypt..." which suggests falsely that *all* Israelites were slaves in Egypt, while the evidence he himself quoted only moments before just suggests that there were *some* Semitic people we may now recognize as Hebrews as slaves in Egypt at a time before his scripture derived date of the Exodus. I have noticed this tendency of Dr. Meyer to omit evidence that weakens his argument, and to inflate evidence that he believes bolsters his argument before, and I don't think this will help his case or his reputation in the long run.
@johnmakovec56984 жыл бұрын
This approach seems to be common by all people, who starts with "Bible is true.... now let's find supporting evidence". Because with this approach, any evidence weakening or even conflicting their starting constant "Bible is true" must be false, because there is no way Bible is not true.

@@johnmakovec5698 Omitting pertinent information is one of Dr. Meyer's favorite tactics. Somewhere in this video, he says about Dr. Kennedy that he "has a really high standard of evidence", implying that he himself doesn't. How does the pharaoh getting doing another slave raid after the escape of the Israelites make sense if he was drowned in the red sea?

"After President Kennedy was shot and killed, the President of the United States worked hard for the country." Does that statement make sense? Yes, because you understand that it is talking about his successor, the next President. If you apply the same reasoning then your question is answered. "The king is dead, long live the king."

REWC No. Let’s rewrite your quote to make it more accurate.... After president Kennedy was killed, president Kennedy worked hard for the country. Now it makes no sense again. Just like the bible.

@@frankfleming9558 Sorry but I think you've misunderstood my point - likely due to my own insufficiency. You seem to be treating Pharaoh like it's a proper noun rather than a title. If you want to make my quickly assembled example more accurate then you would just say that 'after the President was murdered, the President did a good job.' I simply added Kennedy in the first case for clarity. I had hoped that my final quote, "The king is dead..." would have served to emphasize that. In conclusion, if Pharaoh dies in the Red Sea and then Pharaoh goes out to acquire slaves, then there is no contradiction or issue.

The presence of “several” Israelite slaves in Egypt or their culture doesn’t prove that millions of them were there, or that god sent plagues or that he parted the Red Sea. I mean Egypt was right next door to Israel so obv there were going to b some Israelite slaves there. If all these Israelites were there then there would b an abundance of Hebrew stuff in Egypt, but as this video shows there is very minimal Hebrew stuff there.

Because you see, that this methodlogy can't work for Spiderman, you can't use it honestly with Old Testament. Existence of New York doesn't prove Spiderman. So the evidence of natural things in myth doesn't prove the other parts. Does authors of Spiderman know the New York of 20th century? Yes. Does authors of evangeliums know the Judea of 1th century? Yes. Does correct description of New York makes Spiderman true? No. Does correct description of the Judea makes evangliums true? No. Even testimonies of people, that they saw a spiderman would not be sufficient for you to believe in his existence.
