That Inlet pipe being 2 piece helps with IAT's a lot. The hottest point is the at the Turbo so that break helps to not back feed as much heat up the pipe. I got the Coated one and wrapped it with gold heat tape. It made a massive difference

Nope not at all. You only have HAVE to tune it when you get a downpipe because it’ll throw a CEL. You can do intake, intercooler, front pipe, catback exhaust... etc without tuning, but you’ll see minimal gains without a tune.
