EP3 Twinloop Exhaust K24 , Quiet , Clean, Power !!!

So the EP3 is back for a new header and 3" Exhaust and LHT Cold Air intake.
The object is to make more power but keep it quiet, As quiet as possible.
We make the new header fit, We figured it was a bolt on.
It rubbed the Sway Bar and pointed down hill...
We built a quiet 3" LHT Exhaust and a cold air intake and re tuned.

Jeff Fernandez hi Jeff I have 16x8 et 38 rpf1 225/45/16 toyo proxes love how 16s looks on a ep3. couldn’t find Volks or advan anywhere so I settled with the rpf1. I haven’t mounted the tires yet but the wheels do clear the trailing arm. What is your wheel spec setup?

Nighthawk_BEP3 mine are 15x7.5 plus 40 offset with a meaty tire. Your spec should be good to go 👍🏻

Funny I got plm k20a3 headers and put them on and it was hitting but with heat and flex it bent it self. Funny part I found out I had a k24a1 motor in my ep3 so anything fits. Big difference from k20 and k24 motors k24 is just about 5mm bigger on oil pump and oil pan.

The header swap isnt the one that is making the gain.. its the 3” exos, unless ur head is ported to match the bigger header. The length of runner n how it connects (4-2-1, 4-1) will play apart and the restrictive-ness of the exos after the header. It is proven for k series a good header and 3” exos will nett u the most gain interms of bolt on parts. N for all the hate for honda (fart cannon) most of us serious k series owner dont like loud exos too. As the video say, we wan a quiet 3”

I use my ep3 as a daily as well and this set up sound perfect what Muffler and resonator were used it sounds amazing. I also currently have a dc racing header and wonder if that would work.

It sounds great! That's the reason i been looking for the stock exhaust for my EP3. It still has the k20a3 and its my daily and the exhaust that's on it now is way to loud for something i have to drive everyday. If i ever get to do the k24 swap this is exactly what i would want!

Great job guys. I do, specially, love the way you guys fabricate the exhausts ( and everything else obviously ). I myself have a S2k ( 2003 AP1 F20C2 )and fitted a 70mm straight trough exhaust, only with a Toda style ( custom built ) back box. I had great gains swapping the manifold as well for a J's Racing, but always been curious of going 3 inch and also a wider manifold. Is there, in your wide experience, any advantage to go 3 inch on the s2000? I am running a n/a setup and don't think of going turbo/supercharger, I am still with the stock ECU, I will however change the final drive from 4.1 to 4.4.Would be great to see a dyno of a stock s2k and a 3inch s2k. Keep up the magnificent work.

The F series is the same as the K series.. The heads love to breathe and breathe well with bigger intake and exhaust. You will absolutely see gains.

A cherry bomb vortex muffler flows better than a resonator that is pretty quiet while cruising and it's dirt cheap

I've been pondering a similar exhaust setup on my '08 Fit and all the videos I've watched of exhaust clips are just brutally loud and obnoxious. James Borek Well, smelled diameter piping is typically easier to keep quiet. We’ve built many L series, unless you plan of making a ton of power, I would build a 2.5” exhaust system.

You can find all the information on ClubRSX/EPhatch, where all the findings/tests were posted back then. There was no KZbin, at that time, so that's where it went. I've been tuning/building K-Series for almost 19years... only K-Series... and yes, there are old videos you can dig up from back then, also on those forums. Lots of intake shootouts, header shootouts, exhaust comparisons, intake manifold shootouts, cam comparisons/dyno tests, cam installs, clutch installs, which brands work which brands blow up, discoveries of all kinds, etc etc etc. Many many dynotests. A wealth of information. If you need any help, let me know, as I retain most of that information. I also still own my RSX-S that I bought nearly 19years ago. One owner, no accidents, garaged it's entire life.

John dawson The muffler is based off the design from the Mugen Twinloop. It’s performance based as there’s no chambers or restrictions, it’s completely straight through. The noise control comes from the sound wave partially conflicts with its identical sound wave and helps ‘dull’ the sound. Plus, the sound is essentially mufflers twice by passing through the muffle twice. I’m not offended, I don’t sell em 🤣
