Ep4: Crazy Bamboo Raft River Crossing into Ha Giang- Ultimate North VIETNAM MOTORCYCLE ADVENTURE

In this series I travel Northern Vietnam by motorbike on a Honda XR150 over 14 days from Hanoi to the far East in Ban Gioc , via the Ha Giang Loop and to the Far West in Son La Vietnam. This is the ultimate motorcycle trip in North Vietnam and for the true motorcycle adventurer. In this episode we make our way towards a secret cave in the mountain of Son La. This is all about. exploring the most epic places in North Vietnam by motorcycle.
I ride my motorcycle from Hanoi up to Ba Be Lake and explore the far East at Ban Gioc Waterfall, to west of Son La (just before Sapa) passing through the busy Ha Giang Loop.
This series is for the true motorcycle adventurer, those that want to pack a bag, jump on a motorbike and hit the open road and escape the western tourist trap. Absolutely! It was so hard to stay focused on where you wanted to go , rather than where you DIDN’T want to go. The pass was so rutted you were wiggling along the narrow path. I don’t think I’ve ever been so grateful to see tarmac in my life 😂

So excited to do this bit in April! Although we'll be on two smaller bikes which should help a bit haha :). How long would you say it took you to ride the DT217 ? I'm praying for good weather :)

Have fun! It’s depends on weather and how busy the roads are etc. the dr217 is a long road so in total we probably did it over a few days. We were on bigger bikes, had good weather and made the occasional stop to take photos etc. what we did was roughly estimate around 120-140km a day with time to stop etc. that’s how we roughly worked out where we wanted to be each day.
