Welcome to the fifth episode of 'The Monsters of Metal Podcast' In this episode we react, discuss and dive deep into Metallica's groundbreaking album '...And Justice for All' Released in 1988, this album marked a pivotal moment in the band's career, featuring James Hetfield's raw vocals, Lars Ulrich's thunderous drums, Kirk Hammett's blistering guitar solos, and Jason Newsted's commanding bass lines. '...And Justice for All' is a relentless barrage of thrash metal brilliance, with its politically charged lyrics and complex musical arrangements. We dissect and discuss each track, uncovering the album's themes of justice, corruption, and societal unrest, while exploring its enduring influence on the metal genre.
Monsters Of Metal Podcast's aim going forward is to cover THE biggest albums and names in Metal history from the early Black Sabbath days until the present day.

When Justice was released i dont recall it being criticised because of the production and lack of bass, i just remember it was being hailed as another progression in Metallica's sound and was an instant classic. Crunchier than a crunchie factory, i dont think it gets any better than Ajfa.

And justice for Jason sounds better to me but to be fair I am biased towards Jason's bass sound. I love AJFA but with powerful bass sound it is just a little bit better 🤘🏻😎

As a HUGE Metallica fan, no doubt we will eventually cover every studio album but it would be cool to cover a more recent album of theirs next. Thanks for the suggestion 😎

I noticed the juxtaposition of the drum part and guitar parts in the Justice title track in the verses. While the guitar is going 🎵ba ba bahhh ba ba bahhh🎶, the drums are going 🎵bahhh ba ba bahhh ba ba🎶

I'd love if they played And Justice For All live and I'd stay in the front row to the very end because I think the harmonies in the outro are one of the most epic sectionsin the history of metal. The outro sounds like justice!

Hey! It's Martyn here, I have to say I totally agree with you on that one, that section on the Seattle '89 set when Doris is crumbling is burned into my memory ⚖️💵 Personally, I'd be happy with a set made up of all of the band's 8+ minutes songs. The more the better 😁

Back in the days when METALLICA would release albums that were front to back bangers! The funny part is that they would release these albums every two years. Now they have 6 years or more and the albums sound like they were slapped together in a few days. Just my opinion incase anyone is butt hurt.

I don't understand why they don't spend more time on their sound. They have an unlimited amount of money almost and can spend years to get that perfect sound, but still sounds like shit.

It is the Neural DSP Mesa Boogie plugin with a couple of custom IR's loaded in and lots and lots of tweaking. That along with the Snakebyte and HetSet pickups seem to get pretty close.

Easily my favorite Metallica Albulm and it’s got my 2nd favorite song Dyers Eve. Also will you ever do an episode on Ascendancy by Trivium? as it’s easily one of the best metal albums ever made in my opinion

Hey, we actually have a 'Shogun' episode which should be reuploaded soon and after we finished that Matt and I discussed which Trivium album to do next and both agreed on 'Ascendency' as we both love it as much. So that will be in the very near future 😎

I read about it in one of the unofficial Metallica biographies a few years ago about the Ace of spades card but Kirk also mentions it on their 'VH1 behind the music' episode. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKqQiWton750mNUsi=2dCpU5fwxBzALtfU Thanks to you all for taking the time to give the episode a watch 😎
