Im about to build a 1979 in the spring and summer. I find your Bronco videos interesting. Giving me motivation! There are not a lot of 78-79 bronco builds documented. Time for a Feb update lol. Mine was sitting for years in a pasture as well. Had about as much mold on the exterior as your Bronco. Had the 400 running in a day! Like you i knew the history friend of a friends father had it new! Gave to his son. Sold it to my friend with a new rebuilt 400. Drove for a few years then parked for 10 years in a shaded area. Still worth bring the ole Bronco back to life. I had a 1974 bronco for 13years. iam a big fan of Bronco and scouts actually. Keep making your videos and crack a smile or two. Your serious just like me. You are doing a great job, i know the work that goes into refurbishing a bronco . i spent 13 years building up an early one. Thanks Pops

I have a pair of rear sliding windows for a 78/79 Bronco. Try finding them today! I'm glad I bought them for my Bronco back then.

Just curious how this held up. I've had this video in my bronco playlist for years and I am now ready to pull the trigger on completing the shell restoration.

We used marine grade Durabak products. White. Seam sealer 5200 too. Turned out great!

Just tried to reinstall my quarter windows last week, had a hell of a time pull my rope out and getting the seal to seat and gave up. They were from lmc and seemed really stiff. Ordered some from Dennis Carpenter and they seem softer.

What was your method for smoothing the seam sealer after application, or did you wait for it to cure and sand? I'm going to do the same project on my 79 Bronco top in the next few weekends, thanks largely in-part to your video!

Instead of seam sealer, could one use fiberglass to fill and get rid of the seam all together or is that a no no?

Did you remove the anodize coating before polishing? I have to do all of the trim for my 78
@reisslittle3874 жыл бұрын
@@93percentgarage I think i might have to remove most of my anodize. I don’t think it’s gonna clean up too well with it on

How many liter's did it take to do this? I'm about to buy a kit and want to make sure I get enough.
@jordysummitt6 жыл бұрын
Cool. I figured the 4 liter kit was enough. Will 1 bottle cover the inside okay? Just 3 on the outside? Also, any other tips or things you would recommend me getting before I do this? How's it holding up, you happy with it?
