How can you expect him to act as though he already lives in an anarchist system? It's like saying "I wish in the future we had an airport" and then you saying "well you're not using an airport right now so you're a hypocrite". Discovered Anarchy was an actual thing around 17 after years of being called delusional and miserable.Been a part of it 11 years now.We basically spend our younger years being forced into boxes to tick,then forced into jobs that you can't live on without help(which only the lucky get),then retire at almost 70 and eventually be stuck in a retirement home while the top rich bleed you of all your life savings ,and take the house you spent your life working to buy away from you.

I love reading anarchist philosophy and have found it to be extremely helpful in forming my own dissident political positions. Whether you are red team, blue team, Stalinist, etc., learning about anarchist criticisms of society will help you be stronger in your own worldview. I believe the most helpful aspect of studying anarchist thought is that it can break people out of worshipping politicians, which is certainly a massive issue in American society today, so I thank you ER for making this video and exposing people to worthwhile anarchist writing.

They all provide great insights. Spooner especially for Americans. My problem with primivitism as opposed to other branches of anarchism (syndicalism, mutualism, etc) is that it seems to reject science and technology that would let some of us live past the age of 8 (like insulin for diabetics) or not dying from stepping on something sharp. @smartxalex5719

@@Yasha277 Anarchism-- and by definition, Anarchists, do not exist in the absence of laws. Mutualism necessitates a respect for how we engage with one another which, in turn, gives rise to social customs which become rules. What you are describing is Anarchy. Anarchism is not Anarchy. The rest, I agree with. There's a correlation with advances in technology and the average human lifespan, as well as the Years of Potential Life Loss (YPLL) metric so modern medicine is certainly a boon. The beauty of anarchism; however, is that the different subcultures choose their level of engagement and do not attempt to dominate one another.

I personally disagree with the idea that industry NEEDS to go. I agree that pollution and destruction of nature are major issues, but I belive that those could be adressed using technological advancement into renewables as sustainable methods of production. Of course, part of that is simply because I am used to the comforts industrial society provides.

i had a dream once where i saw what society would look like using =exactly= the technology we have now, but in the smartest, most optimal way. we were in space, there were like space rollercoasters, everyone had food, everyone had books, everyone cooperated and had enough for their needs. using exactly what we know now, but in better smarter ways

I recently came back to your channel after so many years and what I have recently learned about you, whether it's your political position, socially moral position, or your absolute stupid comments online, it's all really sad. I used to love your content, including the corvus, SCP, and other types of those vids. All good things come to an end eventually I suppose. Oh and btw, anarchic theory doesn't work, if you knew how human nature works, people won't always "cooperate" with each other, and abolishing government doesn't automatically make everyone live in a fairy tale utopia land without crime. Hunter-gatherers being proof anarchism works is so absurd lmao, civilizations & tribes developed more advances systems overtime for a reason. Also how the hell do nihilism and Catholicism go together, they are literally complete opposite, and on top of that, Catholicism has a form of authority and hierarchy by the Pope and clergy from all around the world.

"Hunter-gatherers being proof anarchism works is so absurd" lol that's our default state. educate yourself before commenting online next time.
@RadioactiveE3
@RadioactiveE3 Жыл бұрын
I'd hate to break the news to you, but that's why "default" states are "default" and are not the best states. Just because something is "default" doesn't mean it's the best option. As I mentioned previously, better systems were developed overtime for a reason, because the hunter-gatherer system is a shitty "default" system. You tell me to educate myself and yet you continuously suggest hunter-gatherers as being the best way forward, you seem to forget that hunter-gatherers didn't just leave each other alone and say kumbaya, they had disputes, people didn't always work together, they had limited ways of feeding their own especially during winter seasons because there wasn't a (better) higher yield form of agriculture developed yet (that's where they get their name, who could've guessed), not to mention hunter-gatherer societies still had a bunch more issues for as small as they were. Now in the theory of anarchism, we're talking hundreds of millions of people, now that compared to hunter-gatherers would be pure chaos.

@@RadioactiveE3 i actually agree with u that using hunter gatherer societies as proof that anarchism works is silly however anarchism isnt when theres "no government" or wutever like ppl like to claim for SOME reason anarchism is a form of government and its just a bottom up approach instead of top down instead of electing some guy whos gonna tell u wut to do, instead u communicate wut to do amongst urselves, and if its less efficient then u can pick a representative who u can recall at any time for ACTUAL anarchist systems u can check out: rojava (which is still a thing but is getting bullied by a lot of countries around it) CNT (this one lost most of its influence after around 200 000 of their members got executed) makhnovshchina (was i think the biggest anarchist government but ussr and nazi germany decided to ally to kill them all) zapatistas (theyre not very big but theyre still a thing and the mexican government kinda dislikes them a lot) when u say "anarchic theory doesn't work" can u at least google "anarchism examples" or something like that, jeez why would u take a description of a whole political ideology from a single video as fact
