As an old guy who owned a little of everything in the early to mid 1990's I was into the Mitsubishi Eclipse/ Eagle Talon's. I had several from a 2wd 5spd car to a modded 1990 AWD Turbo car. I haven't seen one in years and he had several from different years lying around in his yard. Many were scrapped from timing belt breaks that drove the valves right through the top of the pistons. Man those cars were fun to drive.

Some people say thank you and it doesn't mean much but really thank you for keeping these old vehicles on the road. When i semi retire in 10 years this is exactly what i plan on doing. Its not about the money, its about keeping priceless classics in driveways. One day we will be left with nothing but throwaway cars that can't be restored and this whole hobby will die. I hope I'm dead by then.

You guys are true gentlemen, and ladies, that share your finds and add the historical facts without using profanity and bucket mouth comments. I can share your posts with my family, including my grandchildren and share your historical facts to teach them about cars and the art, yes art, of collecting, restoring, and sharing them with others. I look forward to each of your posts and your comments. Just amazes me what you guys find and again sharing the find with others in a true professional manner. Again thank you so much and keep up the good work. Don Jones. Cookeville, Tennessee.

It’s nice to see broken down cars being collected and parted out and some rebuilt/ restored. That is something people need to get back to and manufactures need to get back to, no more use it till it needs repaired. Let’s get back to making items repairable and the right to repair back in the hands of the owners.

I lived in Dexter for over twenty years, interesting town and I remember when the plant was still in business. Sherm Smith Classic Cars is also located there. There is no telling what you will come across back in those hill; be sure they know you are coming. Lambert's started out in a small building in downtown Sikeston. "The cafe was started in Sikeston in 1942 by Earl Lambert, assisted by his wife Agnes, his brother Robert, and Robert's wife Ruby. In 1976 Earl's son Norman "'Ole Norm" Lambert, a former football coach at Sikeston High School, took over management. It was Norman who started the tradition of throwing rolls to customers. In 1981 he explained, "I started throwing rolls about four years ago when we were in our old cafe. It was too crowded one noon for me to serve the rolls to a customer and somebody yelled, 'Throw em.' So I threw them. So, now I do that about every noon meal and during the evenings too. The rolls are fresh, right out of the oven". It's a friendly area and Dennis fit right in.

@kieran finney If your first claim was true, the average age of 'covid' deaths wouldn't be right at the life expectancy age, or even anywhere close to it. It wouldn't also be true that the average 'covid' death involved people with 2.6 other things that kill people in massively large numbers that you suspiciously don't demand the government to overstep their bounds and execute powers they don't have to eliminate. If you're that deathly afraid of it, YOU lock yourself in your home forever.
@ekscalybur
@ekscalybur 3 жыл бұрын
@kieran finney The data is coming from the CDC and the WHO. Its not prevalent above 65, it's nearly exclusively WELL past 65. The average age of 'covid' deaths is deep into the 70s. "Manageable comorbidities" is some seriously twisted thinking. Things that KILL PEOPLE are not manageable. The mask is nothing more than a virtue signal for you to preen on about how much better than everybody else you are. You've succinctly put that on display in this thread several times. Healthy people do not need to wear masks, healthy people don't spread a disease THEY DON'T HAVE. If people are afraid of catching a disease they are convinced will kill them, they can lock themselves in their homes.

That’s so cool that you visited a Lambert’s restaurant. One of the only other Lambert‘s in the nation is down here where I live in Foley Alabama. For those who aren’t aware of what the Lamberts is all about. It is a very different dining experience to say the least. When you walk in and sit down, the show literally begins. You will have your servers playing tricks on you literally until you leave. One of the tricks and I will only divulge this one is where the server walks up to you and says he wanted mustard and she bends the bottle over and squirts it in this long string of yellow mustard comes out and she takes it all over her chest like a champ. It looks like a load from a sailor has been at sea for over a year. Anyway it’s absolutely hysterical for everybody at the table, and there are 15 to 20 more tricks and gimmicks they will play on you before you leave. I really don’t want to spoil any more of them for you though. I can assure you that you will be the mark for some of these little tricks they play. Even getting to work there is not an easy task, as everyone starts off in the “bus boy” position and you work your way up to being a server. They will do free food pass around before your meal even arrives. It will be fried okra, fried potatoes and onions, and of course the muffin top hot rolls that they will have across the restaurant to you like a quarterback throwing to a wide receiver. If you drop it, it’s OK, everyone will just notice and say awwwwww. The food prices are very reasonable, and when your food arrives you’re completely stuffed from the free food pass around so you literally will end up taking about 3/4 of your meal home with you. They never have to refill your drinks because the original fill on your Coke will probably be a 64 ounce mug with a giant handle on it and it’s insulated. It’s such an amazing restaurant concepts and the one here in Foley Alabama is packed year-round to the point where they have added on and add it on and add it on and add it onto the parking 10 times over, and they still can’t keep up. I truly don’t know why they don’t expand this franchise, but I know they’re making A fortune off the few locations they have, and I guess the family is just happy with that. If you look up the families history, there’s quite a few interesting stories there as well. One of the primary benefactors of the estate committed suicide and there are several other crazy stories along with that one. I hope that I have peaked your interest in the Lambert‘s organization and restaurant. Absolutely make a trip to Missouri and visit with theirs or come down here to Foley Alabama and visit ours. Ours is the newer version which is only been around for the last probably 15 to 20 years maybe. It’s hard to miss it because there will be a giant mural painted on the side of the building visible to all the passing traffic, and then of course there will be a congregation of people upfront waiting to get in. For quite a while it was a cash only business, but I think they may have relax that a little bit and started excepting credit cards recently. Of course being the cash only business made all of the servers Much happier because they did not have to declare the tip amount that they would receive to the federal government. My daughter’s best friend from high school who went to college and received a degree in education is literally going to make a career out of being a server at Lambert’s. She absolutely loves working there in the money is fantastic, so even though she wasted four years getting her educational teaching degree, it doesn’t really matter to her. She’s happy and that’s all that matters. If you visit the Foley Alabama location ask for Chelsea, and tell her that Scott sent you. I guarantee she will get a chuckle and she will give you the absolute best service ever. Enjoy your meal!
