I think the 2 main reasons that made people throw the cursed label onto the season is Magnetica, a queen that could’ve easily went to the finale, was undeservingly eliminated second, and Leona’s existence on the season in general. But aside from that, the season really is not that bad, especially compared to other third seasons like UK, Spain or Down Under

I have a feeling Mera only reads the patreon responses, but I'm glad to see so many comments here disagreeing with her analysis of France. This season has been really good. The rusical was a delight . The make overs were poignant and so important. Snatch Game was pretty much like most snatches across the franchises. And this multi-challenge episode was incredibly fun. There is no such thing as a season 3 curse. You are trying to invent drama.

I'm not American nor European, yet I disagree with every single negative comment about DRF. As an immigrant living in Europe, I can tell Mera simply loses a lot in translation. As a French fluent fan who’s also pretty familiar with French pop culture references, I don't think DRF is as cursed as Mera believes it to be. The judges have definitely made some questionable choices (justice for Magnetica) but once we reached top 6, the chemistry between the queens became interesting as more of their personalities unfolded. Le Filip’s character development from a seemingly cold perfectionist to a loveable quirky queen stands out to me as one of the season’s strongest storylines. The season is building up Lula as the shy underdog but ultimately undeniably talented young queen which I’m not mad at. She reminds me a lot of S5 Jinkx Monsokn, perhaps because of the witchy aesthetic they share. I agree that the editing and production leave a lot to be desired. This past episode should’ve just focused on the roast with the wig styling as a twist, leaving time to develop Lula’s and Ruby’s storylines as the two front runners. The mini challenge is a spoof on a very popular French game show and the queens’ responses were very funny. Overall I think a lot gets lost in translation (linguistically and culturally) which is normal. It's important to remember that DRF primarily targets a French/French-speaking audience and won’t always appeal to the global audience as much.

The weakest heel and the roast were really fun ! I really came around to love this season these past 3 or 4 episodes, the beginning was a bit rough but it really went upward mid-season. Team Ruby !

I agree, Idk what is going on in Jorgeous's head this season, I saw the lip sync and Angeria wasn't blocking her or at least she wasn't intentionally blocking her. Even when she brought it up Angeria said if she was doing that she apologized, and despite Jorgeous bringing that up I myself personally couldn't take my eyes off of either one of them during that lip sync. But Jorgeous has a problem that everybody and they mama keep pointing out, she cannot emote a song when it needs to have emotion behind it. Kelli described it perfectly, Jorgeous is doing right by the body with her dancing but she's not doing it right with the face when it comes to emitting emotion.

I think France had a rough start losing magnetica but I think it’s gotten so much better, especially the last episode. Before this episode, I had no idea who could potentially win and I didn’t care but they really challenged the girls and showed us who could really stand up to the test. And now I am confidently team Lula, because she won all three of those challenges.

Having an hour to prepare for the challenge was just an illusion on Drag Race France. They were obviously ready in advance at least for the roast: The girls have just entered the work room and Lula Strega immediately said that she wants to be the first because her jokes were more suitable for that place of order. Besides, most of the girls didn’t even look at the papers, so they were ready

Lefil was actually stronger than Lula. I am french so I could see hear it correctly. It is difficult to judge roast when it is not a known language. To me DRF is really good and has great competitor. Hearing non french speakers hating on episodes french speakers obviously loved is a good summary of the "those seasons aren't made for americans" sentiment, sometimes you just gotta remember that you won't understand everything if the season isn't in a language you speak, and that's fine! But I truly don't think that the season 3 curse is a thing for drag race France 3 and I thought this week's episode was great and hilarious, and it seems most commenters share that sentiment. A shame that the comments aren't being acknowledged honestly :(

I like Plastique but I think phoning in most of the lipsynchs (3/5 of which she didnt bother knowing the words to) really should hurt your chances of winning a charity season. Imo Roxxxy is like the perfect candidate to win, considering she nails all her lipsynchs, makes most of her costumes herself, is tied with most challengee wins, and has had a fully story arc. She's like PRIME winner material whereas Angeria and Plastique are perfect runner-up contenders.

Yes, I do not understand all the negativity re: DRF on this channel this season. Sure, it may not be as 'chef's kiss' as the first two, but I wouldn't classify it as a train wreck either, nor suffering from some curse. Nicky and the judges have been as lovely this season as in any other, and aside from letting go of Magnetica too quickly, it has been a mostly enjoyable competition. (Note: I have not seen the most recent ep.)

Magnetica's and Perseo's eliminations were ...weird..Plus Ruby should have sashayed during the first half of the season. Her blossoming during the latter half could happen with Magnetica ,as well..for instance. I think that, at the remaining roaster..Lula deserves the win. But I was a Perseo fan girl myself..Edit : Perseo deserved to sashay on her one ( and only ) lipsync..but I guess she was fatigued and disappointed by the favouritism shown to Ruby and how much she was ignored after her first win...

This All Star Lalaparuza was BORING!!!! I knew that Roxxxy was gonna win. At this point I’ve seen her whip her hair as much as humanly possible, and I’m gettting bored. At least when Silky & Megami had their runs, they had to different types of songs and get really creative. Roxxxy just whipped and shook harder. Yes, it is impressive, but the more times I see it, the less it becomes.

PS: for all the drag lovers going to Bangkok this summer: you have to go to bipolar bar, the queens there are in Angele family (drag race Thailand season 2 winner). What??? I can't believe y'all are reading this season of Drag Race France so wrong... The mini-challenge is legendary and all of us Europeans hope it will be back every year. The episode was fantastic, having to style a wig should have happened a long time ago. I can understand having 3 challenges can seem a bit much, but considering that this is a semi-final, I didn't mind it. And the season is not that bad. It did have 2 questionable episodes based on the judging, but 2 out of 8 episodes is not bad at all. And certainly not a train wreck.

Curious to know how you feel about Leona being called out for cultural appropriation on the show in the most recent episode, and the moment of Blackface she took part in The Switch S2. As well as the rumors saying she is in favor of the alt-right movement in France. Personally, I hated how now that she was called out for the blackface moment she wants to blame the show and act like she had no choice. She cashed the check and even during Queens of the Universe S2… she was still mentioning how she was the reigning queen for The Switch… but now that it doesn’t serve her it feels like she wants to just blame production when she also played a part in it.

I would expect the voting to just be an extra badge. Give two for the talent show and then another badge through voting and that means even queens with two badges can end up getting 5 by the end. They also need to have some tiebreaker mechanic for this system.

Yeah i think it's defenitely a question of culture and references now. Because France's episode was by far the best of the season despite the Kiddy moment at the end of it. I agree the season begin very, very slow., but as far as the competition progress, it's clearly better. The cast is bad, not diverse, not untertaining enough and production try his best to deal with it... The mini-challenge is the best mini-challenge of the franchise, it's a reference of French's famous TV host (Florence Boccolini) of "The Weakest". It was better than the last season honestly, in term of comedy. The only bad thing (and it's a Social Media War actually), it's Kiddy's comment about Leona. Because he calls her out after all the hate she received because of a former black face moment that she apologizes for because she was ignorant and young by time (like the girl from Down Under, it's the same type of act). Nicky played well and try to educate her in a good way which was great because Kiddy was just here to make drama and it works. Leona was clearly a big problem in this cast, and production is 100% responsible because they know it's gonna be controversal and she's gonna be hated HARD. She was not appreciated eather in The Voice France for her personnality too... Production cast her to use her as a punching ball for the fandom and the french black community who was (for good reasons) bitter because of her black face moment. But bullying someone at a point she didn't even want to be in the final having one of the best TR of the season is crazy. All her socials are off since June... We are not even sure she comes to the Final to film it last Friday !

This is my first season of Drag Race France and I’ve loved it, and this episode was the first episode (since maybe snatch game) to make me laugh out LOUD! That mini challenge was so funny to me and Ruby and Le Filip were hilarious in the roast. Definitely think you’re giving it too much flack

I love the silly mini challenges France does. It lets the Queens actually have low stakes fun and relax for a bit, and stuff like the Weakest Heel are really fun to watch. Its great seeing Lola back too, she's very entertaining. Season 3 doesn't match the incredible season 2 but its still been good. A couple of minor disagreements with the judging but on the whole great cast, Great challenges, 8/10 season for me. You're really clinging on to this season 3 curse idea and I feel like its coloured your view of this season before it even started. Rooting for Ruby to win. AS9...Roxxxy took my breath away this episode. I literally held my breath watching the Bonnie Tyler lip sync

The France mini challenge this episode wasn't so bad but spreading the main challenge out made everything exhausting and not very special. Anyone saying season 3 is just as good as season 2 is in denial. I'm with Mera. There's no one to root for like with Keonia or honestly, any of the gals who all had storylines. I'm fine with the red heads winning but that's about it.

Hi Mera and Kelli! I wanted to mention that Jesus that Eva Blunt is presenting is a very specific kind of Jesus. Is Jesus of Iztapalapa. There is a HUGE and very popular reenactment during Holy Wee, It happens in Mexico City and they chose a different man to perform as Jesus every year. I hope this differentiates Eva's Jesus and make her strong. It's a character with lots of potential. Hugs from Mexico to you and Scarlett. 🥰

i totally disagree with your opinion on france 3… yes the season had a rough start but these last few episodes have been absolutely up to par with season 2, and the innovation with this 3 in 1 challenge was super fun and creative!
