The premise of the song is that a vampire in love will not bite the one he loves to make her immortal. It's pretty simple and very complicated. If he bites the one he loves, he condemns her to eternal Hell -like he is in.

Meat Loaf has said in interviews that what he means by "I Won't Do That" is said before each chorus, but because the chorus goes on for a long time you forget what he won't do. This was one of the 3 videos Michael Bay directed. The other two are "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" a cover of Jim Steinmans song from his solo album Bad for Good & "Objects in the Rearview Mirror (May Appear Closer Than They Are)." There is a sequel to this video called "I'd Lie for You (And That's the Truth)" from the album Welcome to the Neighborhood, which continues the story between Meat Loaf and Lorraine Crosby.

Bat Out of Hell and Paradise by the Dashboard Light are both popular with reactors because they are such fun songs, but other great ones are Dead Ringer for Love (with Cher!), More Than You Deserve, You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, Peel Out, Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through (with Angelina Jolie!), Los Angeloser, Read 'Em and Weep and I'm Gonna Love Her for Both of Us are all great songs and videos. Meatloaf was the ONLY Rock Opera act going and that was only because of Jim Steinman who wrote all of the Rock Opera type music. Jim picked the right guy to sing his songs though. Jim actually recorded the album Bad For Good HIMSELF and released it in 1981. It was supposed to be Meatloaf’s second album but Meatloaf became unable to perform or even record due to anxiety and other issues after the first album was released. Jim got tired of waiting on him so he recorded and released it himself. Most of the songs were later re-recorded by Meatloaf. If you want to hear something really cool and crazy listen to the song “Love and Death and an American Guitar” by Jim Steinman from the Bad For Good album. Link below. By far-not the only production issues... The last six verses features a female singer who was credited only as "Mrs. Loud" in the album notes. She was later identified as Lorraine Crosby. The actress in the video, Dana Patrick, is making lip-sync to Crosby's vocals. But it was a great production!

Great job you too with your reaction and thoughts on the music video for I'd do Anything for love but I won't do that from Meatloaf (RIP) . The lady who you see in the video is not the female singer she just a model lipsinking for the video . after seeing this video and hearing this song are y shock that Meatloaf isn't in the R&R Haul of Fame ? If he doesn't get in to me that place is a JOKE.
