Where do you launch your boat at? I assume this is south branch?
@tyghtlines2 ай бұрын
Yea there's a city park there by Ashland. If you don't have a cart and need a boat ramp, there's on west of that on Western Ave

Thank you for posting😊. Do you ever catch big fish in the area.

You're welcome for the content ♥️. There are big ones in the Chicago River, probably topping out around 5 lbs. They're probably closer to downtown where they can get more food. But, 2 pounders are a good fight and I'll take 10s of those over a skunk any day haha.

Maybe in the fall. I'd be curious to see if big fish move in that area in the fall. Keep posting. I'm a kayak fisherman. Always looking for a new River to fish

@@bhunts4 you should definitely try the Chicago River. It's not as pressured as some would think. Largely due to the fact that it is the Chicago River haha

Wow, nice feeshin! What’s the strategy on that swim jig? Just toss it out and reel it in? Thanks
@tyghtlines3 ай бұрын
@@travisschulz4643 it was a good day for sure 😁. Yea, that's pretty much it. You can also do what they call the Alabama Shake - shaking your rod tip as you reel in. It's great for around structure since it's pretty weedless and crawl it around rocks. It's pretty versatile. If I'm looking for a quick bite to locate fish, then it's usually a cast and retrieve. It also comes down to your trailer since that's where most of the primary action is coming from, with the secondary action being your retrieve speed, rod shaking, etc.

It was a great day for me, but some days just produce smaller fish. That's just the nature of fishing.

What day was this? I've been gettin skunked left and right this week! Been out at Busse and Skokie Lagoons. Hopefully gonna hit the river this weekend.

It was last Tuesday. They're still biting if you're looking to have fun. This weekend is going to be hot 🥵🔥. Stay safe I like Busse, but have a love/hate for the lagoons, so many skunks lol. Good luck! 🤟
