I’m pretty comfortable fishing them from my kayak on this river where I know they’re all only 8-9 years old now and top out around 40”. They get much bigger though and I’m not sure how I’d handle a 50”+ out of my kayak!

Please do a video throwing the Whopper Plopper 190 for Pike🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@ndyakangler9 ай бұрын
I tried the 190 once out of my kayak a few years back. The tough thing about any lure that big are the massive hooks that come with them, it takes a serious hook set to stick a fish. It’s really tough to put that much power into a hook set fishing from a kayak. A lot of that force is absorbed by the small craft getting pulled toward the fish. It happened with the biggest pike I’ve ever hooked into but I was fishing a huge jerk bait looking thing with some massive hooks and I don’t think they went in past the barb. I got a good look at the fish as it shook my lure next to the kayak.

I love the whopper plopper videos. The lure gets a lot of hate because of how fast that back prop bends and never has the same action… but those first 2 trips with it will be some of the most exciting bass/pike fishing experience you can get.. $16 well worth it idc what the average bass snob says
@ndyakangler9 ай бұрын
I don’t think I’ve ever had a tail wire get too bent up on the Whopper Plopper other than on a 75 once after a big pike death rolled with it in my net. The cheap knock offs I’d have to spend several minutes trying to straighten it back out after almost every fish.

@ndyakangler9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I’m pretty sure that 30 min of action I had was during a peak time. My favorite one to be on the water for is the major time when the moon is right above, I almost always have good fishing around that peak time. I also find if the moon is up I seem to do better. If I look at the lunar chart and see the moon rises at noon I’m probably going to sleep in and hit the afternoon/evening bite.
